Claire will be hosting a relaxed crochet-and-chat table. Whether you already crochet, would love to learn, or simply fancy meeting new people over a cuppa, you’ll be very welcome.

I have two very exciting pieces of news to share! 💚✨

I’m incredibly proud to have been chosen alongside seven other inspiring women for The Mother Hub Hotlist, featured in the very first issue of The Mother Hub Magazine.

The feature shares my journey through motherhood and caring for my eldest daughter and how walking and photography helped me find small moments of calm when life felt overwhelming. It also tells the story behind Capture & Calm Walks CIC and Future Journeys CIC and my hope of creating inclusive opportunities for women, children and families.

I’m also delighted to announce that Capture & Calm Walks CIC is officially a winner in the 2026 International Green Apple Environment Awards! 🍏🏆

Our entry, Nature, Wellbeing and Community Connection, was selected from more than 700 entries worldwide and recognised as an example of environmental best practice.

Our award level will be announced at a special ceremony at the House of Lords, Palace of Westminster, in November, which makes it even more exciting!

Both recognitions mean so much to me. What began as a personal way to find calm has grown into a community where people can connect with nature, creativity and one another.

Life hasn’t always followed the path I expected, but sometimes the unexpected paths lead somewhere truly meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who has walked beside me, attended an activity, volunteered, partnered with us or simply encouraged me along the way. This recognition belongs to our whole community 💚

A few sales at Chatsworth, although perhaps not quite enough to make a dent in that stock pile! 😂

But what a brilliant experience it was. I met some wonderful traders, charities and people who had travelled from all over the country to be there. There was such a lovely community spirit throughout the event.

A special shout-out to the traders around me whose conversations, encouragement and laughter kept me going during the quieter moments—you made such a difference! 💚

I’ve come home with new connections, happy memories and lots of ideas about how I can improve what I do and how I display my work. Every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow.

And at least the stock enjoyed a lovely weekend away! 😂

We had a wonderful pattern themed walk from the Stockroom today, noticing the little details around us and enjoying lovely company.

I had forgotten my daughter wasn’t back at school today, so she came along for the ride in her wheelchair! Everyone was so kind and welcoming to her. Thank you, it really meant a lot 💚

Our next walk is women only on 10th September at Werneth Low. We would love you to join us!

🧡 A chair, a cuppa and some company 🧡

We’re delighted to be working with Empty Chairs to host gatherings as part of our new free monthly community sessions, Brabyns: Explore, Notice & Create.

The idea is simple. A table with empty chairs and an invitation to sit together if you would like some company. No agenda, no pressure and no expectation to stay longer than you want.

You’re welcome to come on your own. You don’t need to prepare anything or have a particular reason for joining us. Come for a chat or simply enjoy sitting with others.

Sarah will be at the Empty Chairs table from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, wearing bright orange so you can spot her. She will be there for the whole hour, ready to welcome you. 🧡

🧡 Empty Chairs gathering: 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Free to attend. No booking needed. Just come along.

🌿 Our wider community session runs from 11:30am to 1:30pm, with self guided nature walks, photography prompts, simple creative activities and refreshments. Adults, families and children are welcome, and you can choose what you would like to join in with.

There’s also an optional community litter pick from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, with equipment provided.

🌱🐮 What a lovely afternoon we had at Pepper’s Patch!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for crafts, colouring and time together. Even the rain couldn’t stop the creativity!

Signol Community Centre

Celebrate one year of Capture & Calm Walks CIC with our free community photography exhibition, colouring and Second Bloom bead-making. Help create flowers and insect’s for our shared wildflower meadow artwork!

Tea, coffee and cake will be available for a suggested minimum donation of £5 per person to Macmillan Cancer Support. Entry and creative activities are free. 💚

🐑🌈 Cloud’s Rainbow Flock
Saturday 14th November, 12pm to 3pm
Brabyns Recreation Centre

Join Cloud for a cosy afternoon of creativity and family fun. Decorate a rainbow to take home, explore Cloud’s woolly trail and enjoy a feed-the-sheep game, colouring, stories and sensory play.

Free places and optional £3 supporter tickets are available. Please book one ticket per child.
