BUCHLYVIE CLIMATE AND NATURE FILM SCREENING - WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The UK faces a growing climate and nature emergency. Yet most people have never been fully briefed on what it means for our lives, our economy and our future. To help address this, around 75 people came together in Buchlyvie last week to watch the People’s Emergency Briefing film and discuss what the climate and nature crisis mean for our community. Anne Winther spoke on this at the Community Council meeting last Thursday. To summarise what she said, you can help right now with some simple steps:
1. Ask our MP to act – Email Chris Kane MSP to watch the film and support the call for a televised emergency briefing on climate and nature. Sign the petition https://www.nebriefing.org/parliamentary-call.
2. Spread the word – Know someone who should see this film? Share it, or offer to host a screening in your own community. Margaret Sparkes is happy to chat about how we did it.
3. Get involved locally – Join the next Buchlyvie Eco-Group meeting on 15 September at 7pm.
4. Join the new Buchlyvie Community Trust – it should get its charitable status shortly and we’ll be in touch about becoming a member. Bring your community project ideas to it now on [email protected]
