We're delighted to be a part of Extending XR, a new training programme from the XR Stories project at the University of York. The programme offers people in North Yorkshire the opportunity to develop skills in creative technology.

The programme aims to help you learn how to use free software that you can continue to use after the training on personal devices such as smart phones and tablets.

The first round of Extending XR workshops are designed at a foundational level for people who are interested in creating new content, experiences or stories, but don’t know where to start.

Covering 3D scanning/modelling, basic animation/performance capture and creating virtual environments, each two-hour workshop builds on the skills developed in the previous session

These workshops will run throughout July.

Thanks everyone who attended the opening of Art and Contemplation: Featuring Bridget March and David Crompton at Parcevall Hall last week.

Monday 20th July - Save the date!
⭐Community Viewing: 2–4pm
🌊Contemplative Viewing: 6–8pm

About the artists:
David Crompton has worked as an art technician and ran a picture framing business. David has long been inspired by the scribe monks who illuminated sacred texts, especially the examples in the Wi******er Bible. Coupled with his love of wildlife and the natural environment, he illuminates biblical texts and initial letters interweaving them with birds and flowers. David has created new artwork drawing on the setting of Parcevall Hall featuring birds and plants.

Bridget March spent twelve years in Vietnam where she was able to concentrate on painting as well as supporting local artists and opening an art gallery. She is inspired by the natural world and believes that nature has the capacity to stir our souls beyond what words can express and in so doing connects human beings to the entire universe.
