One of the main aims of Made in WN8 Makers Market is to provide a platform for local makers to sell the products they make.
We are constantly amazed at the talent thst exists in our town and the local area. Sophie at Blossoming Creations creates the most beautiful items that you didn't realise you needed in you life!
You really need to come and see for yourself. We'll be in the East Square at the Concourse on Saturday 13th June from 10 until 3.

Thumbs up to Birchwood - a different way starting at The Greenhill Community Hub this Thursday 4th June From 10am coffee & chat, community shop and lunch at 12. This will compliment our chair pilates Lisa Epstein-Macdonald which starts at 11 and our social group following on from the lunch. I would strongly encourage people to come as Thursday is now all free or pay as you feel for the next four weeks.

FINAL UPDATE ABOUT HEDGY xXx

Hi everyone,

I want to take a moment to address the recent incident involving Hedgy the hedgehog that was brought into our care and sadly later died.

First of all, this has been incredibly upsetting for everyone involved. Anyone who works in animal rescue does so because they deeply care about protecting vulnerable wildlife, and seeing any animal suffer is heartbreaking. This situation has taken a significant emotional toll on everyone involved. Time and resources that would normally be spent saving and rehabilitating vulnerable hedgehogs have instead been diverted into dealing with this incident and the reaction surrounding it. All admin, assessments, treatments, etc falls on my shoulders alone, and the weight is crushing right now.

A number of individuals have been identified and are actively cooperating with the police. The matter has been reported properly, and we now need to allow the police, parents, and relevant authorities to establish the facts calmly and appropriately. Please refrain from naming individuals, sharing rumours, or encouraging harassment.

While emotions are understandably high, we must not respond with hatred, threats, or online abuse β€” especially when children are involved. Whatever the circumstances may ultimately prove to be, intimidation, public shaming, and hateful comments do not help animals, do not help the investigation, and do not help our community. No child is shaped into a better person through fear or public humiliation, but through guidance, accountability, compassion, and love. For this reason, I will be turning off all comments across the posts about Hedge effective immediately.

We must allow the appropriate people to deal with it properly, and as a community, begin to move forward constructively and compassionately. If there is one positive thing that can come from this tragic situation, I hope it is a wider conversation about teaching children empathy, respect for wildlife, and the importance of kindness toward all living creatures.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the rescue respectfully and compassionately. Your concern for wildlif means a great deal.

Please, let’s move forward with calmness, dignity, and humanity.

With kindest regards,

Kelly

Keep the dates and bring your unwanted precious metals and watches. We still have some tables at both markets. The Declutter market is for locals decluttering their home. Tables are free so we encourage you to sell at bargain prices, give away free and swop with others. No commercial trade as its just private sellers making the best of their clutter. The Greenhill Community Hub usually has lots of freebies as well. The Sunday Market is for local Makers & Traders so there is a small charge. If your interested in having a table. Message your number and Angela will be in touch this week.
