What a start to our 2026 summer season! Firstly, a huge congratulations to our new principal cornet, Emily Harper, who did an amazing job, and performed the first solo of the season, in keeping with the tradition of the seat. And then, we played the first ever performance of a new piece, written for us by the brilliant Steven Ponsford, dedicated to the stars of our amazing Friends of Sidmouth Town Band, Val and Colin Howels, and Andrea Gosling. We are so lucky to have them, and our supporters, and our incredible bandstand at the Connaught Gardens. We look forward to the next 14 concerts!

Tomorrow is the start of the 2026 summer season! We are very excited, especially as tomorrow's programme includes the world premiere of a new piece commissioned especially for us. Come and join us at 8pm at the Connaught Gardens - we can't wait to see you all again!

It is hard to believe that this was our Friends of Sidmouth Town Band’s 10th Anniversary Coffee Concert!
Appropriately, special guest performers for this concert were members of Sidmouth Town Training Band.
Talented students on half-term from school - and other young-at-heart band members played with energy and commitment.
Fiona Harvey is a brilliant conductor and teacher and gets the best from the training band, with her encouragement, humour and skill.
We enjoyed two great solos from Emily Wilson-Manfield and Liz Cleves, with Dylan Travers and Thomas Taylor featuring superbly in two other band pieces.
Pinwood Pipes Recorder Consort also gave much pleasure to our audience, performing an eclectic mix of pieces from various eras and genres, and playing an assortment of large and small recorders, e.g. the Pätzold Contrabass and the Sigo and Küng tenor recorders.
The Training Band concluded with the Can Can, accompanied by the audience clapping and cheering - a fitting conclusion to this happy anniversary concert.
Celebration Cakes were generously provided by Vice President Andrea Gosling.
Our Friends of Sidmouth Town Band audience is truly wonderful ….. and we are so grateful for their continued support for our brilliant First Section Sidmouth Town Band.

We're back this Sunday 31st May to kick off our fabulous summer season! You can catch the band every Sunday evening at 8pm throughout the summer in the beautiful Connaught Gardens. Free admission as always! We're looking forward to seeing you there! 🎶🎺

Not long to go! We are busy getting our summer programmes ready for 2026, and are really looking forward to being back at the Connaught Gardens. Please note, the start date is (as always), the last Sunday in May, which is NOT the bank holiday weekend this year. Can't wait to see you all again!

Such an amazing morning …. so much laughter and music for our April Coffee Concert.
James Pellow is renowned as a gifted actor and writer. He and talented Janet Farrow complemented each other in their hilarious short sketches (written by James), creating a wonderful atmosphere and receiving well-deserved applause.
The one and only Baz Breadmore appeared on stage as a BBC News Reader, with a bottle of gradually diminishing Gin at his side!
Andy Benoy chose a delightful mix of his favourite Jazz piano solos - great to listen to.
A huge ‘Thank you’ to such talented performers for entertaining us so brilliantly, and for supporting our wonderful Sidmouth Town Band.

Help Fiona Harvey raise money to support Cancer Research UK
