We were pleased to approve a grant at our last meeting for Shaftesbury Municipal Almshouse, known as Chubbs House. The grant will help fund furniture and an awning for a summerhouse in their recently transformed garden area.

Chubbs House provides age-restricted sheltered social housing in Shaftesbury, supporting residents to live independently in a safe and welcoming environment.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year’s theme, “Take Action,” is a reminder that even small steps can make a real difference 💚

We’re proud to support and recognise local charities like The Brave and Determined Company, who are making a difference in our community by raising awareness, breaking down stigma, and providing vital mental health support.

Whether it’s checking in with a friend, sharing your story, or backing a local organisation, taking action doesn’t have to be big to make an impact.

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we pause to recognise and thank the brave individuals who put themselves at risk to keep our communities safe, particularly at Shaftesbury Fire Station 🚒🔥

We’re also aware that nearby Mere Fire Station is currently at risk of closure. This could have a significant impact on the surrounding area.
