The applicant must live in Shaftesbury, Melbury or Cann
The request must be necessary - the trustees will not make grants towards any non-essential items
The applicant must be in financial need - that means that they cannot afford to pay for the request (or part of it) themselves
The application must be supported by a relevant sponsor or professional - the trustees will not necessarily visit the applicant personally so they will rely on evidence given by a doctor, health worker, social worker, housing officer, councillor, church official or similar. John Foyles Charity has recently helped with the purchase of white goods, food vouchers and household repairs.

If you live in Shaftesbury, Cann or Melbury are in receipt of benefits you may be eligible for financial help.

Applicants require a sponsor, someone in a professional capacity who understands your situations.

Assistance with completing the online application can be obtained from CAB, Open House or Shaftesbury Library.
