20 SPACES. 12 WEEKS. A LIFETIME OF IMPACT.

COHORT 2, are you ready?

Following the incredible start to our first Youth Lifesavers cohort, we're delighted to announce that applications are now OPEN for Cohort 2!

We're looking for 20 young people aged between 13-17 from Sandwell who are ready to learn new skills, build confidence, develop leadership qualities and discover how they could make a difference when it matters most.

Over 12 weeks, our young people will explore:
🫀 CPR and cardiac arrest awareness
🩸 Traumatic bleed awareness
🆘 Choking awareness
📞 Calling 999 and emergency response
💪 Confidence and leadership
🤝 Teamwork and community responsibility

📅 Starting 8th January 2027
⏰ Fridays, 6pm–7:30pm
📍 The Dorothy Parkes Centre
🎓 12-week programme with a graduation celebration.

Only 20 places available!

This isn't just about learning lifesaving skills. It's about creating confident, compassionate young people who believe they can make a difference.

Because you never know when someone might need a lifesaver.

SOME THINGS MEAN MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY…💙

Today, a special message arrived at Hearts in the Stand CIC. 🥹

Following Cllr Luke John Davies for Smethwick Ward contact with Birmingham City FC about the lifesaving work we are doing in our community. Today he has received a signed photograph of Fabrice Muamba from his time at Birmingham City FC! ⚽💙

Luke has humbly said it was nothing… but to us, it means EVERYTHING. ❤️

For those who remember Fabrice’s story, you will understand why this means so much. His cardiac arrest on the football pitch in 2012 was a moment that brought the importance of emergency response and lifesaving intervention into the spotlight.

At Hearts in the Stand, we are working to create communities where people have the confidence and skills to act when someone’s life is on the line. We want ordinary people to feel empowered to do extraordinary things when seconds matter.

And if Fabrice is even slightly aware of the work we are trying to achieve, that alone would mean the world to us.

To Cllr Luke John Davies, thank you for believing in what we do and for taking the time to make this happen.

To everyone at Blues, thank you for this incredibly generous gesture.

Sometimes, what one person calls “nothing” can mean absolutely everything to someone else.

This is one of those moments. ❤️

🎃🧡 WEEK 7 OF OUR YOUTH LIFESAVERS PROGRAM HALLOWEEN STYLE! 🧡🎃

Who said learning lifesaving skills couldn't be a little spooky? 👻

Four of our amazing volunteers dressed up for Halloween to bring some extra fun, laughter and personality to Week 7 of our Hearts in the Stand Youth Lifesavers Programme!

Our young people are learning so much more than lifesaving skills. They're building confidence, developing leadership, learning to work as a team and discovering that making a difference in their community can be fun, too!

From CPR and choking awareness to traumatic bleed awareness, these young people are gaining skills that could one day help them save a life.

A huge thank you to our volunteers for bringing the Halloween spirit and making our sessions so memorable. It's people like you who make this programme so special!

Young people learning today. Lifesavers for tomorrow. ❤️

🥹❤️ WE’VE MADE IT ONTO OUR LOCAL COUNCIL’S WEBSITE! ❤️👏

What a proud moment for Hearts in the Stand! 🫶🏻

We are absolutely delighted to have been featured on the Sandwell Council website following our successful award of £4,603.45 in CIL funding to support our work in the community! 🎉

Hearts in the Stand CIC was established in October 2025, born from personal and professional experiences and a belief that nobody should lose a loved one simply because the people around them haven’t been given the opportunity to learn lifesaving skills. ❤️

Our mission is simple: to empower as many people as possible with the knowledge, confidence and skills to save a life.

Thanks to this funding, we’ve been able to invest in essential training equipment, including CPR training kits, bleed control trauma kits and airway models. This equipment will help us continue delivering lifesaving education, raising awareness and making these vital skills accessible to more people.

And of course, our work with our incredible Young Lifesavers is something we’re especially proud of. 💚 Watching young people develop their confidence, learn practical skills and understand how they could make a difference in an emergency reminds us exactly why we do what we do.

This is about more than equipment or funding. It’s about building a safer, stronger community where more people have the confidence to step forward when somebody needs help.

A huge thank you to Sandwell Council for recognising our work and supporting our mission, and to every volunteer, supporter and member of our community who has helped us get this far.

We’re only just getting started! 🚀❤️
