She says Bhai Parvinder Singh Jhota stood by her family. Now he has been killed for his activism, and she is left asking: who will stand by us now?

Panjab’s families are living this pain while the drug trade continues to devastate lives. Panjab is suffering—and we cannot keep looking away.

Bhai Parvinder Singh Jhota saved lives, raised awareness and was arrested for his activism. He gave his life fighting to save his people from an evil that the very system meant to protect Panjab has allowed to destroy it.

His sacrifice must never be forgotten. The fight he gave everything for must continue. 🖤💛

Bhai Varinder Singh Fauji, an associate of Bhai Amritpal Singh, performs the antim sanskaar of his beloved mother after being brought from prison.

Mata Ji tragically passed away in a road accident while returning from the antim sanskaar of Gurmeet Singh Bukkanwala’s father. Her son now carries the unbearable pain of losing his mother while he remains imprisoned—without having been convicted of any offence.

Many imprisoned Singhs have lost their mothers and fathers while the Sikh community has largely remained silent. Yet we continue to call ourselves a brotherhood.

What meaning do large dastaars and flowing beards hold if we abandon our brothers and their families during their darkest moments? We have allowed personal interests and fear to overcome the courage, prem and collective responsibility demanded by Sikhi.

These Singhs remain in Chardi Kala because of their faith in Vaheguru—not because of the support shown by today’s brotherhood. Their silence carries the painful knowledge that their community has failed them.

May Akaal Purakh grant Mata Ji nivaas at His Charan and bless Bhai Varinder Singh Fauji and his family with the strength to endure this devastating loss.
