Black Women – have you ever had your pain dismissed or waited too long for a diagnosis for heavy, irregular, or painful periods?
Have you been told “it’s normal” — only to later learn you have fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, or another menstrual disorder?
A research team at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), led by Dr Nana Opoku, is exploring how delayed or denied treatment for menstrual conditions is affecting Black women’s mental, emotional, and social wellbeing, and your voice matters.
They’re inviting Black and mixed-race women of Sub-Saharan African or Caribbean heritage, aged 18+, to join Sista Circle focus groups — safe spaces (online or in Liverpool) to talk, reflect, and connect.
🗓 Sessions last 1–2 hours
🎁 £25 voucher for your time
