Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our team and help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our premises. This role involves working a split-shift pattern, providing flexibility across morning and evening hours to meet the needs of our busy and varied schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carrying out routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitising public and communal areas.
• Conducting regular building checks and reporting or resolving any maintenance issues.
• Setting up and clearing rooms for meetings, events, and activities.
• Opening and locking the premises in line with the centre’s operational hours.
• Monitoring safety and security and responding to alarms or incidents when required.
• Maintaining stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Requirements:
• Previous experience in a similar caretaking or facilities role is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good physical fitness, with the ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance and health & safety procedures.
• Friendly, professional attitude with a strong commitment to supporting the community.
Working Pattern:
This position is based on a split-shift working pattern, typically covering early mornings evenings and weekend depending on bookings and events. A minimum of 10 hours per week is guaranteed, with the potential for additional hours depending on the needs of the centre.
Wage:
£12.21 per hour
