Safe Havens

Safe Havens It is important to remember it is young people who have done something about it!

Safe Havens is a young person's mental health and emotional well-being support service, which is available to young people, aged 11-16 at a range of Secondary Schools and Young People's Centres. As organisationally, we develop, flourish and grow stronger we aim to operate in as many Secondary Schools and Young People's Centres as possible to create a network of good practice and help Local Authority's meet today's pressing challenges

Safe Havens was first established at its founding home; a partnership between Wath Comprehensive School and Wath Young People's Centre, Rotherham in December 2006, after serious concerns raised in the school community by young people, staff and parents regarding the nature of the extent and severity of bullying in school. Since then the concept has enhanced, offering more advanced support to young people with a wider range of issues affecting their mental health and emotional well-being. The model is now being adopted by many more Secondary Schools and Young People's Centres as more people are inspired and impassioned by our work and are committed to making a real difference.
