Disability In Music hopes everyone had a lovely Christmas, thoughts still go out to our contributors Si & Colin's families, Disability In Music will be going on a break until the beginning of February due to a few ongoing battles behind the scenes, don't worry too much as we will win against corrupt venues run by dodgy people

Really have to shout out Molly and the crew at Signature Brew Black Horse for being so helpful and welcoming last night when I attended the Yoth Iria show, they treated me with dignity and respect for my disability needs and chatted with me about accessibility in general

Sorry for a lack of venue reviews and updates recently, the chief has been going to a lot of new shows and places but is also going through some health issues, he is also chasing up things a few of you have asked him to look into, exciting news coming soon, November is gonna be a bust month so keep your eyes peeled

On 16th October the chief attended Oslo Hackney to see Venus Grrrls perform and despite all 3 bands being awesome the severe lack of respect towards the disabled community by security there was awful

When asking about the toilets he was constantly told the wrong way to go, there was no wheelchair access at all in the music venue, the bar staff constantly ignored him even when he explained he was disabled and once Venus Grrrls finished he was rushed out of the venue by security rather than being allowed to take his time carefully

He is due back their next month and has raised his complaints to the venue, we just hope they do better next time

Just need to shout out Leo's Red lion Gravesend for being awesome towards those with disability needs

This past weekend at Sarcoma Fest I saw people with sticks, chairs, walkers, scooters and just general disabilities, enjoying their time and being looked after by staff and fans alike, and when I was in need myself they gave me somewhere quiet to sit during an anxiety attack and a chair when my legs gave out

Well done Red Lion, you are one of the good ones

Hi everyone just an update and a shout out as well

The chief hasn't been overly well lately hence why not so many updates, but he has still been going to shows and will have a few more venues to review in the next few weeks

We must shout out The Underworld Camden though for constantly looking after the disabled and access needs community exceptionally at the last 10 shows we have attended there, they always have a place for us to rest, sort hydration when needed and let us take our time when getting around
