Action-attainment

Action-attainment Action-attainment is about enabling children with speech, language, communication and sensory needs to achieve and have active lives. Led by Sam Silver.

Led by Samantha Silver, the organisation builds on Sam's personal and professional experience of supporting children, and their families, to have fun and learn in and out of school. Action-attainment works directly with families, professionals, schools and with community groups to provide understanding, strategies and opportunities for learning, play and friendships.

It's awful when a diagnostic label misses some really critical, life long, communication issues that can be supported when understood. ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, et al can also include communication issues that are missed when ticklist testing is used. Parents need to know.

Supporting Neurodivergent Children in the Digital Age

For many neurodivergent children, using phones and social media can come with distinct challenges. These may include difficulty interpreting social cues, managing exposure to content, and coping with the intensity of online interactions. As a result, they can sometimes be more vulnerable or more deeply affected than their peers.

Expert, Free Session for ND Parenting, "Supporting ND Children in a Digital Age," This session aims to provide practical strategies, open and honest discussion, and meaningful insights that can be applied in everyday situations.

📅 Tuesday 21st April
🕚 11:00am (UK)

Whether you're a parent, manager, leader, or simply interested in better understanding this space, the session is designed to be open, relevant, and actionable.

New Department for Education data released today reveals that thousands of autistic pupils are missing the equivalent of 4.5 months or more of the school year.

The overall absence rate of autistic pupils is disproportionately higher than the overall absence rate for all pupils in England.

Through our Absence Notes campaign we are drawing attention to the many different ways autistic pupils are or feel absent from their education.

We know children whose clinical style "autism" or "adhd" diagnosis is hiding language issues that could be supported with a range of low cost, even no cost, strategies - once understood. What's so upsetting is that the wrong help leads to years of misunderstanding and emotional difficulty for the child, their family and those trying to help. Developmental Language Difficulties are missed, misunderstood, misdiagnosed... and it doesn't need to be like that.
