Further thanks must go out for those who helped us run the Halloween event on Saturday:

-The Company Shop Renfrew
- Grace Laidlaw for the sweets
- all the Community Council members who donated time and money on the decorations, filled sweet bags and made cookies, built gazebos and took them down at the end of the day and for making sure the event run smoothly on the surface!
- Lorraine Cameron Kirklandneuk Community Centre for helping decorating and packing the cookies and also for storing all our equipment before and after the event
- Joanne and the crew of the parks department for their assistance and supplying water for the apple bobbing
- Up To Clean Up at Renfrewshire Council for the bags and litter picks
- Lisa Marie Hughes, Carly and Ayla for stepping in to help at the last minute.

But the biggest thanks goes to Jan Bunch who suggested this idea many months ago and organised everything - dreaming about sweets and cookies for months! Thank you Jan for leading the event and bringing us all together!

What a fantastic day in Robertson Park today for our Halloween event - hope you all enjoyed it! Thanks to the shops that donated to us to make it such a success - Wellbread bakery, Krispy Kreme for the doughnuts, East Yonderton farm for the pumpkins, Thistles & Tykes, Morrisons, and Tescos. Aldo thanks to the volunteers who have been working behind the scenes for months and helped with the set up and running of the event today.

And a massive thanks to the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers - we could have done it without your help! You were stars!!!

Ok over to you - did you enjoy it and is there anything we could improve on? Bear in mind we are all volunteers and have busy lives away from the Community Council.

Skills matter. Commitment to Renfrew matters too.

We’ve highlighted some of the experience that would be particularly useful to Renfrew Development Trust, but we don’t want that to put anyone off getting involved.

You don’t need to tick every box.

We’re also looking for people who care about Renfrew, are willing to contribute their time and ideas, and want to play a part in what happens next.

Different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives can all bring something valuable to the Board.

This is an unpaid voluntary role. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer Board Member, or simply want to have an informal chat about what’s involved, send us a message or email [email protected].

Help us build a stronger Renfrew together.
