It may nearly be the end of Volunteer week but here at For Sick Children we're extending it to Volunteer month! We're having a volunteer celebration on Tuesday 23rd June from 12-1.30pm at Withington Methodist Church (M20 4AN). A light lunch and a raffle for our current volunteers and anyone who's interested in finding out a bit more about what we do 😀

🌟 Mike and Steven Are Taking on the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run! 🌟

This Sunday, 31st May, Mike and Steven will be lacing up for the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run 10K — all to raise vital funds for Transport for Sick Children, a charity that makes sure children can get to essential medical appointments when no other transport is available.

🚗💙 Every pound they raise helps a child get the care they need.
🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Every step they take brings the charity closer to supporting even more families across Greater Manchester.

If you can, please support their run, share their story, and help spread the word. Small donations make a big difference.

We are thrilled to say that at the Stockport County game last Wednesday night we raised a huge £840! Thanks so much to all the generous supporters who donated, our amazing drivers who helped with the collection and to all the staff at the ground who were so welcoming😀

Just under 2 weeks to go until the Rochdale Volunteer fair with Action Together. We're looking forward to meeting potential new volunteers on the 4th June at Rochdale Exchange shopping centre, pop down and see us! 😀

We were very sad to hear of the death of former Treasurer and Chairman John Adams last month. John's experience and enthusiasm was vital in helping the charity become a limited company and he was pivotal to some of the big financial changes made to benefit the charity and secure it's future. Our thoughts are with John's family and friends at this difficult time. There will be a celebration of his life at Adlington Memorial Park on Thursday 14th May at 1pm.

We were very sad to hear of the passing of our former Chairman John Sagar earlier this month. He was Chairman from 2005 until 2016 and was key to growing the charity from a small office at a clinic in Romiley to the organisation it is today. He was awarded the Order of Mercy in 2012 for many years service to the Voluntary sector. His funeral will be held at Rochdale Crematorium on Tuesday 12th May at 2pm. Our thoughts are with his wife Irene and his family and friends at this difficult time.
