We are delighted to announce Heritage Lab Ramsgate has secured a major grant of up to £250,000 over three years from Historic England, with £107,000 confirmed for year one, marking a significant milestone for our organisation and a major boost for heritage-led regeneration in Ramsgate.
The capacity-building funding – awarded to organisations with the potential to deliver transformational change for historic places – will support a three-year programme focused on bringing more of Ramsgate’s historic buildings back into active, sustainable use, whilst strengthening community engagement.
We are hiring for two new roles as part of the funded programme: a Fundraising & Development Manager and an Engagement Officer. Full details on our website at https://www.heritagelab.org.uk/join-our-team-2-roles-available-fundraising-development-manager-and-engagement-officer/.

The funded programme, ‘Connecting Ramsgate’s Heritage’, builds on Historic England’s previous Heritage Action Zone investment within Ramsgate, and will strengthen partnerships and develop and deliver a pipeline of key heritage projects across the town. Historic England funding for years two and three will build on the progress made in year one, subject to the delivery of agreed outputs.
Heritage Lab Ramsgate will build on its ongoing engagement with other local heritage stakeholders and Thanet District Council to explore opportunities for underused heritage assets. This includes supporting the Ramsgate Heritage Community Buildings Forum – a network of organisations collaborating to champion heritage, share knowledge, and shape a joined-up programme of activity alongside the Neighbourhood Board.
Historic England supports organisations to develop the skills, partnerships and capacity needed to care for and revitalise England's historic environment.
