On the Feast of St. John Vianney, patron saint of parish priests, we give thanks for all priests, especially those in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Northampton, who faithfully support us in living out our ministry of outreach inspired by Gospel values. Through their guidance, encouragement and service, we are able to flourish as a parish community.

By supporting our CAFOD appeals, sharing our campaign messages, and making our fundraising efforts possible, our priests help us put faith into action and stand in solidarity with our global family.

On this special feast day, we pray for all priests across the world. May God continue to bless them with wisdom, strength and joy as they shepherd His people.

St John Vianney - pray for us 🙏

Prayer by St John Vianney
God, please give your Church today
many more priests after your own heart.
May they be worthy representatives
of Christ the Good Shepherd.
May they wholeheartedly devote themselves
to prayer and penance;
be examples of humility and poverty;
shining models of holiness;
tireless and powerful preachers of the Word of God;
and zealous dispensers of your grace in the sacraments.
May their loving devotion to your Son Jesus in the Eucharist,
and to Mary his Mother,
be the twin fountains of fruitfulness for their ministry.
Amen.
Prayer by St John Vianney

What a fantastic evening of fun, friendship and fundraising!

Our wonderful CAFOD from three parishes – St Augustine's (High Wycombe), St Dunstan's (Bourne End) and St Teresa's (Beaconsfield) in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Northampton – came together to organise a brilliant Quiz Night at St Teresa's Parish Centre.

A huge thank you to Margaret for producing a wonderfully challenging set of quiz questions, and to parish priest Fr Sean, who did a fantastic job as quiz master, keeping the evening running smoothly. Everyone also enjoyed a delicious fish and chip supper.

Alongside the quiz, the raffle, bar and auction helped raise over £1840!🙌 This will go towards supporting CAFOD's work with communities around the world.

Reflecting on the evening, CAFOD volunteer Sheila said:

"Moments like this remind me that fundraising isn't just about the total at the end of the night. It's about people giving up their time, supporting one another and coming together because they want to make a difference."

What a wonderful example of parish communities working together in support of our global family. BIG THANK YOU to everyone who organised, donated, volunteered and took part. Your generosity, dedication and enthusiasm made the event such a great success!

Julia - St Teresa's Parish Community Princes Risborough, was so keen to help alleviate suffering in Sudan when she heard about the plight of the people there that she chose to give £130 raised at her market stall to CAFOD's Sudan appeal.

Julia was so thrilled to hand over the money to parish Sue who said, "Julia is an amazing fundraiser for CAFOD. She is always wanting to help others. Thank you Julia."

At their latest CAFOD team meeting, the group invited Debbie (CAFOD coordinator for RC Diocese of Northampton) to present Julia with a Thank You certificate which she was delighted with saying, "I love helping people. I want to help people all over the world."

Thank you so much Julia. A better world needs all of us and you are certainly doing your part in helping our brothers and sister globally. You are such an inspiration!

Jenny, our CAFOD from St. Francis of Assisi Church in Shefford was keen to share how her parish supported our brothers and sisters living with debt :

"We signed the Debt Petition on Sunday at both Masses , as the front of the Church is very small it was quite hectic as gladly everyone wanted to sign. So we also carried it over to our Word and Communion Service and UCM meeting today. We even managed to take a photo".

Thank you to the parish and the UCM for your wonderful support.

How wonderful of the residents of The Retreat in Princes Risborough to do their fundraiser for CAFOD this year!

The new warden, Linclon, and his very talented wife, Hilvia, prepared a feast - delicious Sri Lankan food (despite the heat!) and this was greatly enjoyed by all.
There was a raffle too with fab prizes.

They very kindly invited parish Marie and Sue from the St Teresa's Parish Community Princes Risborough and Debbie Purfield (CAFOD coordinate for the RC Diocese of Northampton)

Debbie spoke about the work of CAFOD and how through our partners, we support in times of emergencies and long-term development.
She concluded by thanking everyone and added, “be assured that your support will make a difference to our brothers and sisters globally.”

Apart from being a very enjoyable event, they raised an amazing sum of £220! 🙌
A big THANK YOU to all the residents for their amazing support and to Lincoln and Hilvia for the yummy food. 🥳
What a terrific evening!

Another successful sponsored walk by the St Teresa's Parish Community Princes Risborough from the RC Diocese of Northampton.
The Parish of St Teresa's Parish Community Princes Risborough in the RC Diocese of Northampton held a 10km sponsored walk to support CAFOD's work.
Parish Marie said, "It was very enjoyable and the weather was ideal, our local countryside was at its best, green meadows with wild flowers supporting a host of dragon flies, butterflies and bees and we also spotted swifts flying overhead. It was a circular walk which took about two and a half hours. Everyone chatted along the way and when we returned to the church hall we were treated to tea and a delicious selection of cakes."

Parishioners generously sponsored the group and raised over £700! A BIG THANK YOU to all who took part in and sponsored the walk!
