🎶🌊 The Selkies are coming to Rosses Point! 🌊🎶

⚓We’re delighted to welcome The Selkies — Northern Ireland’s only all-women sea shanty group — to the Wild Atlantic Shanty Festival!

💙Hailing from Portaferry, Co. Down, The Selkies have been making waves across Ireland since 2022 with their powerful harmonies, traditional sea songs, and incredible community spirit. Inspired by the legends of the Irish and Scottish Selkies, the group brings music, friendship, and storytelling together in a truly unique performance.

💙They’ve performed at major charity and community events, including the 200th RNLI Anniversary celebrations, and even featured on UTV’s Keepers of the Lough.

Sail Away With The Selkies - Shanty Songs, Sea Air & Mighty Craic!

From the shores of Portaferry to the lively crowds of Bangor, Sligo, Portstewart and Belfast, the Selkies Shanty Group have been bringing songs of the sea roaring choruses and mighty craic wherever they drop anchor this summer!

Every venue has been packed with friendly faces, clapping hands and voices joining in the choruses. Whether you know every old sea shanty ever written or just fancy a great night out with good people and good music, the Selkies are all about everyone joining the fun.

Our hometown of Portaferry always gives us a mighty send off and every stop along the way has added its own magic singing into the night in Belfast, seaside laughter in Bangor and Portstewart and fantastic welcomes over in Sligo. There’s nothing better than hearing a whole room singing together with smiles, stories and plenty of laughter flowing between the songs.

The Selkies don’t just perform we invite everyone to become part of the night. Stamp your feet, sing along, raise a glass and enjoy the music. No experience needed just bring your voice and your sense of fun!

More dates, more songs and more adventures are still to come this summer, so keep an eye out for the Selkies Shanty Group appearing near you. Bring your friends, bring your family, and come along for an unforgettable evening of music fun and proper good craic.
