🌿 Fancy getting outdoors, meeting new people, and discovering the wildlife right on your doorstep?
Join us on Nature Photography Day (Monday 15 June, 11.30am–1.30pm) at Barr Beacon Local Nature Reserve for a relaxed, hands-on nature session.
📸 You’ll learn how to use the iNaturalist app and become a citizen scientist, helping record the plants and animals we find together. It’s amazing what you start to notice when you slow down and really look!
🌱 There’s also the chance to get involved in measuring trees in the Tiny Forest - a simple way to support local nature recovery.
Whether you’re completely new or already love the outdoors, this is a friendly, welcoming session with like-minded people. No experience needed - just curiosity!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along. It was fantastic to see the children having so much fun—getting creative with stone and picture painting, enjoying the sand, and showing off some very impressive campfire building skills 🔥

It’s been Volunteers’ Week 2026, and we want to take a moment to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to the incredible Walsall Tree Warden volunteers.
Together, you help green spaces across Walsall thrive 🌿
In all weathers - from sunshine to pouring rain - you give your time, energy and care to support your local environment. Your commitment makes a real and lasting difference.
From monitoring the growth and health of trees in our Tiny Forests, to hosting inspiring iNaturalist sessions, collecting seeds and nurturing young trees at the Community Tree Nursery - your passion for nature shines through in everything you do.
And of course… thank you for the hot drinks and chocolate too - always appreciated! ☕🍫
