Oxfolk Ceilidhs are friendly, fun and pleasantly exhausting. There's always a top notch live band to dance to and a caller who explains how all the dances go. You're very welcome weather you're an absolute beginner at this style of dancing or whether you've been doing it for years. These events have been going for over 30 years not only because ceilidh dancing is hugely enjoyable, but because Oxfolk has become a community of enthusiastic people who make sure that each ceilidh is a blast!

Here’s that Callers’ Census funded by EFDSS, which closes on Mon 20th July. It is looking at how callers do the job, the kind of repertoire that’s being called (and therefore danced). Wherever you call: the odd party with friends, dance clubs, weddings, festivals, something else entirely, this piece of work collects the data to understand what’s actually happening these days.

Now, this looks like a fab dance! It's at Shiplake near Henley on Sat 11th July.

Wyfold RDA is holding a lunchtime music event at our stables and an evening ceilidh at Shiplake Memorial Hall on July 11th.

In keeping with the RDA motto “It’s what you CAN do that counts!”, music will be provided by The Bader Heritage Band, a group of musicians with physical, sensory or mental health conditions who, together with a couple of non-disabled support players, produce a quality professional sound covering a range of genre including Big Band, Jazz, Ensemble and Ceilidh music. 

The events aim to raise funds to support the ongoing costs of Wyfold RDA and to support the amazing Badder Heritage Band!

Just a few days now until Topette!! end their UK tour at Uffington on Sunday and you can see that just a fraction of our poultry collection are very interested and making arrangements to get themselves down to the Thomas Hughes Memorial Hall.
