Our Vision is "To be the best quality service, safely supporting Older People with kindness, dignity, care and compassion to live their life, their way" We are based in the heart of Ormskirk - just a three minute walk from Ormskirk Train Station is where you will find us. You have probably driven or walked past us and wondered "What happens in that building?"
We support Older People to continue l
iving in their own homes by providing day time support. This is something that can be self funded or if you have any involvement from Social Services, they may be able to commission the service. If you would like more information about self funding with the service, you can ring and speak to one of the team. This will allow us to give you the most accurate and up to date information regarding prices and availability. So what happens on a typical day at the Derby Centre? For most people, the day begins by being collected by our lovely Transport team. This is something we are able to offer, providing you are within our catchment area - you can also arrange your own transport if you would prefer this. Then, when you arrive at the centre, you are welcomed with a freshly brewed tea or coffee, along with some biscuits and we usually have a catch up with everyone, including our fully qualified staff members
Once everyone has arrived, we tend to move onto our morning activity. This can include crafting, quizzing, singing, moving or exploring our garden area - there isn't one set pattern as we believe our activities should be decided by our clients as we endeavour to provide person centred care. At 12 o'clock, we all gather in our bright, airy dining room for a two course lunch, freshly prepared by our chef onside. There are options to choose from and the menu varies throughout the year. After lunch, we then take part in an afternoon activity- again, this is down to the clients decisions and they are supported and led by our team members. We also enjoy a deliciously crafted, homemade afternoon snack. Then, from 4pm, our lovely Travel Care team arrive to support getting you home. We offer a free taster day, to allow you to come and explore the centre and get a feel for how the centre works for you. Please get in touch either via email or give us a ring to discuss this further. Frequently Asked Questions
