Anyone for tea in China?

China is the birthplace of tea, and this November there’s something brewing in Guangzhou.

PIF and CIPS are bringing together a UK delegation to visit CIPS Guangzhou, one of China’s largest professional pet and aquarium trade shows.

Last year, CIPS welcomed 1,230 exhibitors across 100,000 square metres, showcasing pet food, accessories, health and care products, aquatics, grooming, small animals and the latest pet technology.

Whether you want to:

🐾 Source new products and private-label opportunities

🤝 Meet manufacturers, importers and distributors

🏭 Visit factories and retailers in Guangdong

🌏 Explore exporting your products to China

💡 Understand how business and the pet market work in China

This is not simply a walk around the exhibition. Tell CIPS what you hope to achieve and your visit can be tailored around your interests, with relevant meetings arranged in advance. Post-show factory and retail visits may also be available.

China’s urban dog and cat market is now worth approximately £34 billion, making this a valuable opportunity to explore one of the world’s most significant pet markets.

Places on this tailored delegation are limited.

Interested? Complete the attached form by the ➡️ 31st August in the link below and we will get back to you with more information

Could this be you in 2026?

Just 14 days remain to enter the PIF Awards 2026. Entries close on Monday 7 September.

As businesses prepare to promote their stands and products at PATS, entering the PIF Awards is another powerful way to raise your profile.

Finalists will be announced shortly before PATS, giving shortlisted businesses valuable recognition to support their conversations with buyers at the show. That recognition continues through to the PIF Awards gala in November and well into the new year.

Entering is simple and completely free for PIF members and non-members. All you need is a clear 500-word summary of your business, its story and its achievements.

Tickets and tables are also now available for our black-tie gala evening on Thursday 5 November at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Stoke-on-Trent.

Can We Run Your Business for You?

No.

But we can help YOU run your business.

No trade association can make sales for you.

We can’t manage your cash flow.

We can’t recruit your staff… but we can put you in touch with people who can.

We can’t stop difficult customers… but when disputes arise, we’re here to help through our dispute resolution service.

And we certainly can’t remove every challenge that comes with running a business.

But we can make it easier.

Here’s how we can help:

• Influence the future of the pet industry. PIF sits on the Steering Committee of the Canine and Feline Sector Group (CFSG), ensuring the views of pet businesses are represented alongside animal welfare charities, veterinary organisations, local authorities, government and other key stakeholders.

• Stay ahead of changing legislation, regulation and Animal Activity Licensing requirements before they affect your business.

• Improve knowledge and demonstrate competence through practical online learning designed specifically for pet businesses. From Animal Activity Licensing to business development and professional skills, discover PIF Education at www.pifeducation.co.uk.

• Access expert business advice, guidance, templates and best practice.

• Accelerate your growth through the Business of Pets conference, where ambitious businesses gain practical advice, market insight, expert speakers and valuable connections to help them take the next step.

• Gain valuable market intelligence and business insights through our executive briefings and industry updates.

• Identify export opportunities and understand what is needed to trade successfully in overseas markets.

• Build valuable contacts across every part of the UK pet industry.

• Raise standards within your business through practical guidance and recognised good practice.

• Celebrate success through the PIF Awards, recognising the very best businesses, products and individuals across the UK pet industry while showcasing excellence, innovation and achievement.

• Ensure your voice is heard by Government, regulators and decision makers.

• Be part of a community committed to helping the UK pet industry grow and succeed.

Running a business can sometimes feel lonely.

It doesn’t have to be.

Whether you’re a pet retailer, groomer, boarding establishment, breeder, manufacturer, supplier or pet service provider, PIF is here to support you at every stage of your journey.

We can’t run your business.

But we can help you build a better one.

If you’re not already a member, we’d love you to join us.

Be part of it. Add your voice. Help us do more.

We Don’t Just Say It. We Do It.

Some organisations spend their time talking about what they are going to do. Others are more interested in promoting themselves and collecting awards.

At PIF, we’d rather be judged by what we’ve actually done for the UK pet industry.

Just in the first six months of 2026 we’ve:

• Helped shape new professional grooming guidance through the Canine and Feline Sector Group (CFSG), where PIF sits on the Steering Group.

• Gathered evidence from professional groomers that fed directly into submissions to the Veterinary Medicines Directorate and the House of Lords on flea and tick treatments.

• Challenged the huge variation in Animal Activity Licensing fees through Freedom of Information requests.

• Launched Paws in Spring, helping independent pet retailers attract customers while showcasing the importance of the high street. Thank you to the many manufacturers and suppliers who supported the campaign by donating prizes.

• Expanded PIF Education, providing practical online learning to help pet businesses build knowledge, demonstrate competence and support compliance with Animal Activity Licensing requirements.

• Delivered Business of Pets, bringing together industry leaders with insight from PwC, NielsenIQ and others.

• Expanded our Data & Insights programme with executive briefings from PwC, CACI, Mintel and Herd, giving businesses practical intelligence to help them plan ahead.

• Increased our focus on exports, supporting UK businesses at Interzoo and developing practical help for companies looking to trade internationally.

• Continued to represent the industry with Government, Parliament, regulators and sector bodies.

• Continued to develop the PIF Awards, introducing new categories including the International Business Award.

And we’re only halfway through the year.

PIF’s job is to be the trade association for the UK pet industry.

That means representing our members, raising standards, influencing policy, supporting businesses, creating opportunities and ensuring the voice of the pet industry is heard.

But we cannot do it alone.

Everything we do is made possible by businesses that choose to become PIF members. Their membership strengthens our collective voice and gives us greater capacity to tackle the issues that matter.

The more businesses that stand with us, the more we can do for the UK pet industry.

If you believe we should be doing more…

Join us.

Be part of it. Add your voice. Help us do more.
