🏹 Britain’s best archers are coming to Nottingham this weekend! 🏹

The Archery GB National Tour Final will see the country's highest ranked archers battle it out in Nottinghamshire, the home of Robin Hood and offers a chance to try archery for yourself.

If you're heading to Nottingham for the event, why not make a full trip out of it and explore Rushcliffe too?

🏛️ Heritage Open Days are coming: 11–20 September 🎉

Discover hidden stories, fascinating local heritage and unique experiences – all completely FREE through England’s largest festival of history and culture.

Two local museums are opening their doors this year:
1. 📍 Flintham Museum: Lost Skills and Village Heritage Walk

🗓️Sunday 13 Sept, 11am–3.30pm
🗓️Tuesday 15 Sept, 12pm–3pm
🗓️Thursday 17 Sept, 1pm–4pm
🗓️Saturday 19 Sept, 11am–3.30pm

Step back in time and explore rural life through the eyes of a village shopkeeper. This year's special display celebrates traditional crafts and lost skills, featuring historic artefacts including a leather horse harness with a remarkable story to tell.

After your visit, enjoy a self-guided walk around the conservation village with an illustrated map highlighting where local tradespeople once lived and worked, from blacksmiths and bakers to shoemakers and millers.

2. 📍Framework Knitters Museum, Ruddington: ‘From Ruddington to Cromford’ Book Talk

🗓️ Sunday 20 Sept

Join writer Deborah Elliott as she shares the fascinating story of her framework knitting ancestors, the Price family, based on her book From Ruddington to Cromford in Derbyshire.

Featuring live readings from local actors Sarah Burton and Leo Lanzoni, this engaging talk connects Nottinghamshire, the Peak District and even Florence Nightingale.
