Six weeks ago saw the fourth Sherwood Open Gardens take place, when almost a thousand people visited 20 gardens, filling the streets of Sherwood as they followed their maps. We recently met up with fundraisers from our two charities this year, as chosen by our garden hosts. On a hot afternoon in one of our open gardens, we had the pleasure of formally donating £3750 to Amelia Flanagan of Nottinghamshire Hospice and Tassie Larner of Juno Women's Aid. The photos show the organisers of SOG, Kathryn, Pauline and Lindsey, with Tassie and Amelia.

On Saturday 13th June, twenty Sherwood gardens were visited by almost a thousand people (and a lot of well-behaved dogs) for Sherwood Open Gardens 2026. We made £7,500 from entrance fees, plant and cake sales, art stalls and donations, and we are very pleased to be able to donate £3,750 each to the two charities chosen by this year's garden hosts, Nottinghamshire Hospice and Juno Women's Aid. Thank you so much to everyone who took part, the gardeners, volunteers and members of the public who supported us. These are some images of the day, most of which were taken by Jon Pope and Pauline Mordue, Chair of Sherwood Open Gardens, who had the idea for the first Sherwood Open Gardens in 2019. Big thanks also go to Rosie Needham Smith for her amazing social media posts

Yesterday was the 4th Sherwood Open Gardens since 2019. It was attended by hundreds of visitors, who bought plants, art and cake and listened to live music… Most of the host gardens had hundreds of people through their doors, who were all having such a wonderful time.

We’ll shortly be able to publish the amount we raised for the two charities (Notts Hospice and Juno Women’s Aid) but for now here are a few snaps from yesterday.

Thank you to everyone who made this such an incredible event. We are so lucky to have such an amazing community 💚

See you soon Sherwood 👋 Nottinghamshire Hospice
