Northallerton Communication Club

Northallerton Communication Club The Northallerton Communication Club is a monthly meet-up for AAC users of all ages and their families.

We create a welcoming space to play, chat, explore devices and connect with others on the AAC journey.

Our next Northallerton Communication Club is going to be a creative one.

Saturday 4 July, 10am to 12pm, at Mencap Northallerton, we are joined by the lovely Holly from Thread and Press for some clay modelling inspired by nature.

Expect hands in the clay, lots to chat about, and a warm, welcoming morning for communicators of all ages and their families. Every voice matters and every method counts, so come exactly as you are.

It's free to come along.

Pop the date in your diary and we will see you there.

With thanks to Thread and Press CIC for joining us.

🗓️ Online Drop-In — Friday 5th June

Our free online AAC and AT drop-in is coming up on Friday 5th June, and we would love to see you there.

It is a 45-minute Zoom session where you can bring your questions, your worries, or simply a "where do I even start?" — and we will work through it together.

Spaces are free but limited, so if you would like to come along, book your slot using the link below. Before your session I will send you a short form to fill in so I can be properly prepared for you.

👉 Book here: https://f.mtr.cool/rbopudxomm

If you cannot make this one, the drop-in runs on the first Friday of every month — so there will always be another chance. 💛

🎸 Something exciting is coming to Northallerton Communication Club!

On Saturday 6th June, we're running a very special session: AAC Rocks! — a music jam where our club members use their AAC devices as instruments, creating voice-output sounds to build a song together.

I'll be supporting on electric guitar, laying down loops for everyone to jam along to. But the real music makers are the club members themselves. There is so much creativity and expression in this group, and I cannot wait to see what we create together.

If you know a young person who communicates using AAC and might love to get involved, this is the session for them.
