We Are Hiring 🌲👈🏼

We're hiring a Horticultural Production Lead to join our team at Mires Beck Nursery, based at our Sandy Acres site in Wilberfoss, East Yorkshire.

If you have practical horticultural and arboricultural experience, thrive in a fast-paced production environment, consistently achieve high quality standards and production targets, and are confident working independently, we'd love to hear from you.

As part of this role, you'll be supporting a charity that changes lives through horticulture, helping to improve wellbeing, develop skills, and create positive environmental outcomes for our local communities.

This is a part-time position, working 28 hours per week over four days, Monday to Thursday.

Meet Louise!

Louise is a valued member of the Mires Beck team and plays an important role within our Retail and Perennial teams.

Recently, Louise celebrated her 60th birthday. Rather than receiving gifts, she kindly asked friends and family to make donations to Mires Beck Nursery instead.

And raised an incredible £450!

A huge thank you to Louise and everyone who contributed. Your support helps us continue providing meaningful opportunities, building confidence, developing life skills, and creating lasting friendships through horticulture.

We were incredibly touched to receive this feedback from one of our partner schools The Market Weighton School 💚

"These visits also help develop communication, teamwork, and responsibility, all of which are important life skills. The students look forward to their Friday mornings each week and return with smiles, new experiences, and a real sense of achievement."

Every Friday, SEND students visit Mires Beck Nursery to take part in horticultural activities, learning practical skills through planting, watering, weeding, and general garden maintenance. More importantly, they gain confidence, independence, social skills, and the opportunity to enjoy the many benefits of working outdoors.

Another part of the feedback that really stood out to us was:

"The positive impact they have on our students is truly invaluable."
