A HAT TRICK FOR NEWCASTLE! 🏆

Today we took home Gold and overall winner in the BID category for the THIRD consecutive year at the Heart of England in Bloom Awards!

LoveNUL in Bloom is led by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID in partnership with Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council bringing together the people, projects and places that make our town special.

And there’s more to celebrate! We also picked up two discretionary awards:

🌿 Landscape Award recognising the work to introduce more sustainable planting across Newcastle. The judges described the displays, including those in Queen’s Gardens, as “stunning”!

👏 Chair’s Award for local historian Jim Worgan, celebrating our very own fountain of knowledge and his dedication to sharing Newcastle’s history over the years. We’re absolutely delighted for you, Jim!

From planting and public spaces to heritage, events and community projects, there was plenty to showcase during July’s judging visit.

A huge thank you to the businesses, volunteers, community groups and partner organisations who joined us to tell Newcastle’s story and who give so much to our town throughout the year.

What a result for Newcastle! 🎉

🌸 Good luck, Newcastle-under-Lyme!

The Heart of England in Bloom results are being announced tomorrow, and we’re keeping everything crossed for Newcastle 🤞

This year, we supported Newcastle-under-Lyme BID and partners across the town to welcome the judges and showcase some of the fantastic work happening across our town centre.

From beautiful planting and cleaner streets to heritage, public art and community projects, the judging day celebrated the businesses, volunteers, community groups and teams who work hard to make Newcastle a greener, cleaner and more welcoming place.

Whatever the result tomorrow, a huge thank you to everyone who has played a part 💚

Good luck to Newcastle-under-Lyme BID and everyone involved! 🌸

Today we held the award ceremony for our Newcastle in Bloom gardening competition at New Vic Theatre . We've seen some bloomin' brilliant projects this summer, which has been a real challenge for gardeners due to the scorching heat!

Well done to everyone who entered, we can't wait to see what you have planned for 2027!

Today we took our Civic Pride campaign to Betley, We joined Betley, Balterley & Wrinehill Litter Action Volunteers for a litter pick, covering the road from the village out to the Broughton Arms and collected 8 full bags along the way.

Councillor Bettley-Smith was also out and about with his tape measure and camera, reporting potholes, blocked paths and other issues that need to be fixed to the relevant departments.

Today we took our Civic Pride campaign to Keele! We spent the morning at Keele Cemetery planting English Bluebells near the woodland area, these flowers will make the area look nicer for visitors, and they are great for pollinators in early spring.
