❤️ We can’t wait to watch this.

For so many families we support, this isn’t just a film, it’s their reality.

The anxiety, the daily struggles and the constant fight to be heard and understood.

Behind every child struggling to attend school is a family doing their best, often facing battles others don’t see.

We hope this film raises awareness, challenges misconceptions and reminds people that sometimes it’s not that a child won’t attend school, it’s that they can’t. ❤️

We are proud to announce that Unauthorised Absence will be available for EVERYONE to watch from Tuesday 10 November.

So many of you have waited a long time to see this film. Thank you so much for your patience, your ongoing support and everything you’ve shared with us. We’re so glad we can finally share it with you!

We made Unauthorised Absence because we believe film can help people feel seen, help others understand, and inspire change. Whether you watch at home or come together alongside your community in your area, we hope it opens up conversations that matter.

Our brand new Family Service Weekly Timetable officially launches this Wednesday 4th November!

Whether you're looking for a friendly face and a chat, support with the challenges of family life, somewhere for your little ones to play or simply a listening ear, we're here for you!

WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING REFERRALS TO ALL OUR FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES!

Our services include:

1:1 Family Support – Personalised support for families, either at our hub or in your own home.

Auntie Service – Practical, hands-on help with everyday family life, including laundry, cooking, shopping, childcare support and getting organised.

Care & Repair – Help with small DIY jobs, furniture assembly, minor decorating and garden maintenance.

SEND Support – Parent support groups, inclusive play sessions and support for families navigating additional needs.

SEND Equipment Library – Borrow specialist sensory equipment and practical aids to try at home.

Baby Weigh & Chat – A friendly space to meet other parents, with a self-weigh station for babies. Medical advice must be sought from your Health Visitor.

Toddler Mayhem – Fun, play and social opportunities for our youngest community members.

Carers Support Group – A welcoming space for unpaid carers to connect, share experiences and feel supported.

Family Worker Drop-ins & Home Visits – A friendly face, practical guidance and support when you need it.

Referrals are welcome from families themselves as well as professionals and partner organisations. You don't need to wait until things reach crisis point to ask for support.

🎉 TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY! 🎉

After lots of hard work, planning, organising and a few hectic moments along the way 🤣 we are SO excited to finally be opening the doors to our brand new Family Matters Family Hub! ❤️

We’ve been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to create a warm, welcoming and inclusive space where local families can come together, feel supported, make connections and know that there’s always someone there to listen and lend a hand.

And tomorrow, we finally get to welcome you all in! 🥰

We’re so proud of what we’ve created, but this is just the beginning! We have so many exciting plans for the future and we can’t wait to share them with you.
