Friends Of Sound and District Primary School PTA Welcome to our page - we are the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for Sound and District Primary School, Nr Nantwich, Cheshire

Like most schools, Sound and District Primary School have a Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which is an organisation of parents, carers and staff. Our role is to raise funds for the school to use and encourage closer links between parents, carers and the school. We are probably best known for our fundraising work, but we also have a useful social function too. Our activity varies and includes;

* raising funds to help the school provide extra resources for the pupils

* running social events for parents and children; providing an opportunity for people to meet and get to know each other and have fun

* providing support for school trips and outings and other special events

* organising meetings to inform parents about education and other issues, especially when changes are taking place

The PTA are extremely proud to be running our Monday night gardening club at school, we are so excited to get the children outside, learning how to grow the food they eat, how eco systems work and with the added aim to start holding our very own little farmers market selling our produce. A huge huge thank you to Baldwin’s Quality Topsoil for generously donating the compost and topsoil to support our project…. Donations like this really do allow us to give the children in our community amazing opportunities. So far we have planted the tubs at reception, planted our onions and herb garden and today our peas and strawberries went in, the children have been growing our sweetcorn at home ready to bring back after the last frost to go into their patch 🍓🌱🥒🌽🥕🥦🍅
