Another year almost done. Sadly not as many events attended this year, due to the organiser taking time off as he was in France with the Argylls Association Pipe Band, but we still attended a few events.

Even though the season has come to an end, Hutch still has one last outing - December sees him back at Beamish for the last few days of the year. Hopefully some photos will follow soon of this, plus David and him also attended at the start of the month.

A huge shout out as always to our good friends who support us and make this happen. We wouldn't be able to do it without the support of Opfor and Combined Forces.

This does not mean we are taking our foot off the throttle - next year marks the 70th anniversary of the Suez Crisis and we have new ideas coming out, alongside new displays. Watch this space!

Gear set up and we had a spectacular day at perth military salute. Always a great event to do.

Always great to speak to people and learn more including one lad whos father was in 1st Btn the West Yorkshire regiment who was sent to Malta before being out on a ship to suez. The regiment wasn't told where they were headed and disembarked in Port Siad Egypt.

One hell of a day. Been good to celebrate the VE 80th anniversary. Thanks to Colin Maxwell for being our neighbour for the event was a great laugh & I think we traumatised poor Roger Pickering 🤣

Was great to speak to people including a veteran from 2-3 SAS, a member of the royal artillery who was in the suez before operation musketeer and also people who recognised us from Perth Salute the last couple of years.

While it may not be 50s alot of the kit from ww2 was carried over into the 50s and was good to see some of the vehicles that featured in the Suez such as the White M3A1 tracked scout car (Israeli forces used these), bren gun carrier (egyptian forces had these) and also Willie's jeeps which were brought back into service for the suez to cover for the Austin Champs. We only counted in the mood 3 times 🤣

Well what a start to the season! Always a great event! This time we did something different and teamed up with our good friends from Cf Lhg and showcased the argylls from the introduction of national service. Operation Musketeer (Suez Crisis). Op Stirling Castle (Aden). Operation Banner (NI), Op Lionheart (84) and into Op Grapple (Bosnia 92)
