Looking for somewhere friendly to spend your Friday morning?

Our Friday Coffee Club at Audlem Public Hall is all about bringing people together for conversation, companionship and plenty of laughter over a cup of tea or coffee.

It’s relaxed, welcoming and inclusive - somewhere you can catch up with familiar faces, meet somebody new or simply sit down and enjoy being part of the group.

We also like to mix things up from time to time with quizzes, guest speakers and other activities, so there’s often something a little different to enjoy.

Most importantly, it’s a place to connect with others and enjoy some good company. 💙

Next up in our Meet the Team series is Gary, our Chair of Trustees! 💙🧡

Gary lives locally and is passionate about building strong, caring communities where older people, carers and anyone needing a helping hand can feel connected, valued and supported.

When he’s not wearing his ADCA hat, Gary is Chief Executive of Cheshire West Voluntary Action, working alongside local organisations and public services to help communities thrive. He also works a few hours locally for the Methodist Church as Treasurer and as part of its strategic leadership team.

But there’s plenty more to Gary than meetings and spreadsheets! 😄

✈️ He flies a Microlight - yes, really!
🎨 Enjoys visiting art galleries
🎶 Sings with Nantwich Choral Society
🏋️ Likes keeping fit
🌍 Loves travelling with his wife - often with their two dogs joining the adventure
📚 Appreciates a good book
🍷 And isn’t going to say no to a big red w**e!

Originally a Halifax lad who has made Cheshire his home, Gary says there are few things more satisfying than a perfectly smooth aircraft landing. We’ll take his word for it - some of us are happier keeping both feet firmly on the ground! 😂✈️

We’re very lucky to have Gary helping to guide ADCA as Chair of Trustees and bringing his wealth of experience and passion for community to the charity. 💙🧡

Our Monday Coffee Club at Broomhall & Sound Methodist Church is a friendly, relaxed place to get out of the house, enjoy a chat and start the week surrounded by good company.

There’s always a warm welcome waiting, along with plenty of tea, coffee, conversation and laughter. 🧡

Some weeks you might find us testing our knowledge with a quiz, while others may include a guest speaker - but there’s always time for a good old-fashioned catch-up!

You don't need to know anyone before you come along. Our Coffee Club is an inclusive space where everyone is valued, and you might just leave with a few new friends too.

Today, on International Day of Older People, we celebrate the older people within our communities and recognise the invaluable contribution they continue to make.

At ADCA, the importance of creating inclusive, supportive and welcoming environments for older people is at the heart of everything we do.

Growing older should never mean becoming isolated or disconnected from the community around you. Through our groups and services across our local communities, we aim to provide opportunities for friendship, conversation, laughter and meaningful social connection, while helping people to maintain their independence for as long as possible.

Whether it’s sharing a hot meal at one of our luncheon clubs, enjoying an activity, catching up over a cuppa or simply having somewhere friendly to go each week, those connections matter.

International Day of Older People is also an important reminder that older people should be valued, included, listened to and supported - not just today, but every day.

We’re proud to play our part in building communities where older people can remain connected, independent and very much a part of community life 💙🧡

Living with dementia can affect the whole family, which is why our weekly Dementia & Carers Group is here to support both people living with dementia and those who care for them.

Our group offers a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment where everyone can feel at home.

💙 People living with dementia can enjoy fun activities, lively conversations, plenty of laughter and the chance to spend time with others.

☕ Meanwhile, carers can enjoy a well-deserved break - whether that's having a cuppa and a chat with other carers, sharing experiences, or simply enjoying a little free time knowing the person they care for is nearby and having a lovely time.

There’s no pressure and no judgement - just friendship, companionship, support and plenty of laughter for everyone.

Our Tuesday Luncheon Club takes place every week at Audlem Public Hall from 11am-2:30pm, bringing people together for good food, great company and plenty of conversation and laughter.

And this week, we have something extra special to look forward to! 🎶

We’ll be joined by the Motown Movers, a fantastic dance group who’ll be bringing some Motown music, movement and fun to the afternoon! 💃🕺

Our Luncheon Club is about much more than enjoying a hot meal. It’s a chance to get out of the house, meet new people, catch up with friends and enjoy being part of a friendly and welcoming group.
