🌿 Three Oxfordshire projects recognised for their work for nature
We’re delighted to celebrate three outstanding Oxfordshire community projects that have been highly commended in the inaugural CPRE Centenary Biodiversity Award.
The award was established jointly by the CPRE branches in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire to mark CPRE’s 100th anniversary and recognise inspiring community action for biodiversity.
🍃 Greener Henley was recognised for its Nature Squared project, wildlife group, Tree Trail and work towards its Bee Friendly Town status.
🍃 Mill Lane Community Garden in Chinnor was praised for transforming land alongside a new development into a wildlife-friendly community garden, with pollinator planting, native hedging and habitats for wildlife.
🍃 Uffington Community Garden was recognised for its welcoming approach and the way it has grown into a valuable resource for local people and children since it was established in 2012.
The overall CPRE Centenary Biodiversity Award went to Newbury Friends of the Earth for its Newbury Nature Corridors project, creating a network of habitats across the West Berkshire town.
A huge congratulations to all the groups involved – proof of how much communities can achieve for nature when they work together. 💚
