This week, The Haven team has been hard at work clearing out the pond in the Japanese Garden.

While making a fresh home for the wildlife, they discovered goldfish, koi, tadpoles, dragonfly larvae, newts and even newt larvae!

Don’t worry, all of the pond’s residents are safe and will be returned once their home is ready again.

A great job by Liam and the team!

It’s been an incredible week for our team at the BBC Gardeners’ World Fair at Beaulieu, and we’re so excited to share that ‘A Garden of Many Hands’ has been awarded the Platinum award and Best Beautiful Border.

Created from the imaginations of the people we support, this garden has been shaped every step of the way by our supported gardeners, from early ideas through to design and build. To see their creativity recognised at this level is incredibly special.

The judges described the garden as ‘enchanting’ and praised how it stood out from the rest. A huge well done to everyone involved, especially the gardeners, whose ideas, hard work, and talent brought this garden to life.

If you’re visiting the show this weekend, we’d love for you to come and see it in person: https://www.bbcgardenersworldlive.com/spring-fair/

It's an exciting week as a team of supported gardeners take on the build of 'A Garden of Many Hands' at BBC Gardeners' World Spring Fair at Beaulieu. People we support have been involved throughout the process from discussing initial ideas to deciding design and planting schemes and they are now looking forward to getting stuck in to the build.

The garden is based on an original folk story about the Oakborn people and the creation of Furzey Gardens. It is born from the imaginations of the people we support and fits this years Spring Fair theme, 'Once Upon A Time'.

Within the garden visitors to the fair will see the familiar plants of Furzey, along with lots of little details made in the workshops at Minstead Trust. Centre stage will be the Oakborn peoples dwelling, a thatched house, made by people with learning disabilities in the wood workshop at Minstead Trust.

Tom, who is one of the gardeners working on the garden, told us 'It is a great opportunity for everyone who doesn't get to be involved in something like this. It is a little square of Furzey transported to Beaulieu.

Onsite the soil has arrived and the team have been hard at work preparing the ground for the garden to take shape.

We can't wait to show you the finished garden later in the week.

We’d like to say a huge thank you and good luck to Robbie, who is taking on the Brighton Marathon Weekend on 12 April in support of Minstead Trust and is already halfway to his fundraising target!

Robbie said: ‘I want to raise money to help those who are most vulnerable…combining this with the Brighton Marathon will also demonstrate the benefits of exercise and training for my own physical and mental wellbeing and will hopefully inspire others to do the same.’

There’s still time to support Robbie before the race this weekend. Find out more about his story here: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0tfPJ10
