To our wonderful community: We are deeply saddened to share some unexpected news.

📢 Creative Cafe Update: Our Next Chapter 📢

Please note that The Kontinuum CIC is no longer running or affiliated with any events at 16 Park Street (Glitch). GGlitch - Gaming, Collectables & Social Hub

Last Sunday, we received a text message abruptly ending our collaboration at the venue, with the reason cited being “not enough numbers”.

We were incredibly shocked by this, especially as our sessions have been fully booked and were providing a vital lifeline for local people.

It has come to our attention that the venue has chosen to launch an identical "Creative Cafe" format in our exact Thursday time slot, but as a commercial, paid-admission event.

We want to make it 100% clear… this new event is not run by or associated with The Kontinuum CIC.

Our authentic Creative Cafe was built as a non-profit initiative to combat rural isolation, support mental health, and provide a safe space for those with hidden disabilities. Because of this, our sessions are always FREE. We believe community support should never be behind a paywall.

We are deeply hurt by how this collaboration ended, and we are incredibly sorry for the confusion this has caused our regulars. We miss you all terribly. Please know that we are already working hard behind the scenes to secure a brand-new, welcoming home in Minehead where our true, Creative Cafe can return.

Thank you to everyone who supported our vision.

If you made friends and built confidence in our sessions, please keep that momentum going! Stay tuned to this page, we will find a new space for us all very soon. ✨

Thank you for the people who sent me the message to make us aware this was happening. Hopefully our community can understand that this was not a Kontinuum intention. Please 🙏 be kind and let’s not hurt non profits supporting local mental health. Let’s support good businesses and help people.

Kind regards,
The Kontinuum Team

KONTINUUM CREATIVE CAFE UPDATE

Kontinuum Creative Cafe is paused until further notice.
The positive bit: we’ve been fully booked, and we’re now securing a larger space so we can welcome more of the community properly (and make it more comfortable for everyone).

If you were booked in, or you were planning to come along, please DM me and I’ll make sure you’re kept in the loop.

Thank you for the support!

I’ll share the new venue details as soon as they’re confirmed.

And if you’d like to be part of the Creative Cafe as it grows, DM me.... we’re planning to expand to more than one location across the South West.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, but today, someone can destroy it by pressing a button.

It took me years of hard work, determination, and studying music theory to translate my emotions into these keys.

Today, a prompt can generate a song for someone who couldn’t care less…

But art isn't about the shortcut… it's about the connection, the science, the math, and the frequency of real human feeling. That’s what humans connect to (I hope 🙏)…

You wouldn’t get AI to run a marathon… cause you take pride in the hard work. The benefits of the training. The reward of passing the finish line.

Here is something real. It has flaws. It’s recorded on my iPhone with no filters. But it’s human. Real music saved me, it’s a safe place I can release my emotions and make something that’s mine and I hope it reaches the people who still need to feel something real today. 🎹✨

If you like this 🙏 please share it and if you are on the side of keeping real art and music alive. Then join us 😝

Ai can steal what it wants… but it can’t take away the heart and human feeling in creating it. 🙏

That’s real and artificial can never replace real 🤷‍♀️

CREATIVE CAFÉ @ GLITCH — This week (4 spots only) or a table.

Thursdays 12pm–3pm | Glitch - Gaming, Collectables & Social Hub

This week we’re leaning into CHARACTERS — imagination, expression, and bringing the unreal onto paper. This is inspired by one of our young attendees who has made a whole universe of characters.

Come and build someone that doesn’t exist yet (or finally get the one in your head out onto the page).

Draw, write, collage, sketch, scribble. Make it yours.

But also: you don’t have to take part in the character theme.

Creative Café is your time. Some people bring their own projects and just use the space to get things moving again.... writing a book, knitting a jumper, sorting ideas, finishing something they’ve been avoiding. We are a creative community and all creative brains work differently.

If that’s you, bring your own materials and come sit in the creative energy for a bit. It is contagious... in a good way of course.

So if you’ve been thinking “I’ll come one day”… this is your opening.

Free to attend and materials are provided (and you’re welcome to bring your own too).

All we ask is that you support the venue while you’re here by grabbing a tea/coffee/cold drink (or something from the menu). Hot choc encouraged. Waffles Encouraged!

You will usually find me scoffing down a Green Noodle of Pot, in the most classy way of course... hehehe

To book: DM me or DM with your name + “Creative Café”.

Creative Café update for — Thursday 24th Sept: we’re fully booked.

If you still fancy popping in, you’re very welcome to come along for a cuppa and say hello just please be mindful that the tables are reserved for booked attendees during the session.

Current spaces are reserved for our regulars while we grow, and we’re looking at possibly adding another Creative Café soon.

If you’d like to be on the list for the next one, drop me a message.

✨ This is why Creative Cafe is awesome. ✨

Today at Glitch (powered by Kontinuum CIC), I met a brilliant 12-year-old creator who completely blew me away.

They have built an entire universe, creating over 100 fully illustrated characters—each complete with their own distinct personalities, identities, and backstories.

As an artist, my brain immediately started buzzing…. iYKYK

Next week, we are teaming up! She is thrilled to get involved, and I can't wait to draw realistic versions of her characters in a collaborative art style. 🧑‍🎨🎨But the magic didn't stop there.

Looking around the room today, the creative energy was palpable:

Reimagined TV scenes being brought to life in unique, personal styles.

Beautiful knitted garments being crafted loop by loop.

Fun little experiments and experiences being tested out.

Some people love jumping into our planned activities, while others bring their own passion projects.

Everyone and every type of creation is welcomed here.

See you next week for the collaboration! 🚀

Christmas commissions are open (limited slots).

I know… it was basically five minutes ago we were talking about summer holidays.

But if you’re anything like me, getting Christmas sorted early isn’t about being organised for the sake of it — it’s about reducing anxiety and taking the pressure off later.

So I’m opening a small number of personal art commission slots now, so you’ve got time, choice, and breathing space.

Need gift ideas?

a portrait from a favourite photo (partner/child/grandparent/best mate)
a pet portrait
a first home / family home painting
a wedding / anniversary moment in oils
a classic car / motorbike (first car, pride and joy, restoration project)
a children’s bedroom piece (game-themed/animals/fantasy + name)
a horse/dog piece from a photo
a special place (beach, moor, a view you always go back to)

If you want a gift with meaning (not just “stuff”), I can create:
Sketches (simple, classic, affordable)

Mixed media pieces
Oil paintings on wooden board (and oil on canvas by request)
Recent commissions have included:
game-themed artwork for children’s bedrooms
portraits (a moment you want to keep, permanently)
classic cars

If you’d like a personalised gift for someone you love and you want your spend to support community work around hidden disability, message me.

To enquire, DM me:
what you’d like (and any reference photos)
your budget (rough is fine)
when you need it by …and we’ll work out the best option together.

Deposit then small payment plans can be arranged.
