A small friendly folk club, dedicated to encourage the continuation of folk music in the area, be you new or experienced, you will find help and encouragement in your playing or singing, you can come just to listen, there is no charge. The Blazing Stump was established in 1975 by Alan Baker to give those who enjoyed playing and singing traditional music a place in which to join with others of like
mind in a friendly informal atmosphere where they could follow their interest . We have since had the pleasure of welcoming various local up and coming folk artists to our evenings who have since become members. The meetings are held on the second Friday of the month at The Kildare Lodge Hotel, Townsend Road, Minehead, at 8pm. which has plenty of parking. Membership is free. Bring your voice, instrument or just yourself. Don’t forget that the West Somerset Folk Festival Starts on Friday in june every year at 8pm with the traditional music and song hosted by The Blazing Stump. Also look out for future dates for the Somerset Folk series of concerts which will showcase more of Somerset and surrounding areas emerging folk artists. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FOLK CLUB!!!
