💜 We’re honoured to be nominated 💜

We are incredibly proud to share that Tees Valley Together has been nominated for a BBC Radio Tees Make a Difference Award in the Community Group category.

Reading the nomination was a real reminder of how far we’ve come since starting during the first COVID lockdown in 2020.

While we can’t share the full nomination, this part meant so much to us:

“The nomination highlights not only the practical support provided, but the relationships that have been built along the way. They should be proud to be a place where people feel welcome, valued and connected.”

This recognition belongs to everyone who has been part of our journey – our volunteers, staff, trustees, funders, partners and residents.

As founder and volunteer CEO, I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved together. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Tees Valley Together and to the person who took the time to nominate us.

💜 We’re so proud of Janet! 💜

We were delighted to learn that our wonderful Janet has been nominated for a BBC Radio Tees Make a Difference Award in the Volunteer category.

While we can’t share the full nomination, one part really stood out:

“Her presence transforms ordinary days into memorable times, reminding neighbours they matter. We are better because of her, and Hemlington is kinder, brighter, and more connected through her tireless, joyful attitude.”

Anyone who knows Janet will know just how true those words are. Her kindness, humour, dedication and willingness to help others make a difference every single day.

Janet never seeks recognition, so we’re delighted to see her being recognised for the incredible contribution she makes to our charity and community.

The organisations are guaranteed at least £500, but the more votes they receive, the more money they could receive to support their cause.

The organisation with the most votes will receive a fantastic £5,000. Those voted in second place will be given £2,500, third will receive £2,000, and fourth place receives £1,750 while the remainder will walk away with either £1,500, £1,000, £750 or £500.

💜 Happy Volunteers’ Week! 💜

This week, we want to take a moment to recognise and thank the incredible volunteers who help make Tees Valley Together what it is.

Whether you’re helping in the Eco Shop, supporting at events, making refreshments, sorting donations, chatting with residents, or simply stepping in wherever you’re needed, your time and kindness make a real difference every single day.

Volunteering is about so much more than giving your time. It’s about creating connections, building confidence, supporting neighbours and helping to make our community a welcoming place for everyone.

We are incredibly lucky to have volunteers from all walks of life who bring their own skills, experiences and personalities to Tees Valley Together. Together, you help create the friendly and supportive environment that so many people value.

As CEO, I can honestly say that we wouldn’t be where we are today without the help and dedication of our volunteers. They really are the backbone of Tees Valley Together. Through the highs, the challenges and everything in between, they have continued to show up for their community with kindness, compassion and a willingness to help others.

To every volunteer, past and present, thank you. Your commitment does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for every hour you give.

You are a huge part of our team, and we simply couldn’t do what we do without you. 💜🩷
