Street Based Youth Team The Street Based Youth Team are based in Merthyr Tydfil and provide
Street Based Youth work for young people aged 11-25 in the form of Detached.

The Street Based Youth Team is based in Merthyr Tydfil and provides Street Based Youth work for young people aged 11-25 in the form of Detached and A Mobile Youth Bus all over the borough. The Team is a resource for young people that live in Merthyr Tydfil that might not access center based provisions elsewhere. The Street Based Team work with Young People in locations appropriate to them and devi

se a flexible programme of engagement in sport and physical activity, healthy living, health and well-being, the team offer information and advice on substance misuse, reduction in alcohol consumption, sexual health advice, accessing further education, training and employment and anything else that fits the needs of the Young people of Merthyr. The mobile provision allows the team to provide a warm, safe and comfortable environment in which young people can discuss their needs and access further advice and or information. The Way the team works and engages with young people able young people to consult on issues which affect them and in so doing identify ways and means to tailor make a Workshops, events or offer training appropriate to an area or can be utilised throughout the borough. Working over four evenings a week on various nights the team aim to cover the entire borough, areas with high Anti-social behavior reports, or areas where the young people are at. 🌟 A huge THANK YOU from the Street Based Youth Team 🌟

On behalf of Merthyr Council’s Street Based Youth Team, we just want to say how amazing our recent Skate & Scooter Competition turned out! The kids absolutely loved it, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our local businesses and, of course, all the young people who came along and made the day such a success. 🙌

We had limited funds to work with, so the generosity of these businesses truly made the event special by helping us put together some brilliant prizes:
🍦 Mogsy Belle – £25 gift voucher & one of their ice cream vans at the event!
🍫 The Sweet Shop Trago Mills – a hamper of chocolate
🚴‍♂️ EC Cycles – t-shirts & hoodies
🚲 Halfords – a massive bundle of helmets, knee pads & accessories
