Great fun at the Morlais Castle Golf Club this afternoon for the first luncheon of 2026.
Food as always was first class and our thanks go to Barney Paula and the team you were all superb.
Special guest was the Mayor Paula Layton and our thanks also go to her as we are a recipient of her Mayors Appeal this year.
This money will go to helping cancer patients and their families within the Borough .
New entertainment for us this time curtesy of Jeff Hooper .He was brilliant with lots of ladies strutting their stuff on the dance floor .We certainly hope he will come again.
My thanks to all the ladies of the committee who continue to work so hard to try and raise funds to help those who need it
One last mention to Karen of Flowers by Hamilton for donating the beautiful spring flowers for the tables so kind.
We now look forward to our next event which is a Mad Hatters Tea Party on July 12th 2026.

With 60 people in Wales diagnosed with cancer every day - cancer isn’t waiting and neither should Wales. And yet it’s the only UK nation without a long-term cancer plan.

This is despite the fact we know countries with a plan improve outcomes and care, and that is why we are calling for a 10-year national cancer strategy in Wales.

The Senedd elections are happening on 7 May 2026 and as part of the build-up we chaired a political Hustings in partnership with the North Wales Prostate Cancer Support Group and the new Maggie’s centre in Clwyd, where the event took place.

Present were members of the Senedd and representation from many of the Welsh political parties, members of Maggie’s urological support group, Macmillan professionals and many others living with or affected by cancer.

Chairing on our behalf is External Affairs Manager Rhian Stangroom Teel; she said: “These hustings have been an opportunity to create a safe, inclusive space where people affected by cancer and their families can hear directly from Senedd candidates about their priorities, ask questions and feel their lived experience has been heard.”

Present was Neil, who received a workplace blood test with North Wales Police at 51, which showed high PSA levels. Neil went to his GP but had to insist himself that he was referred.

“That referral saved my life,” he said.

He was diagnosed with prostate cancer undergoing a Radical in Clwyd, but men now have to travel to England because his local health board lacks the necessary robotic equipment.

Because of this, along with the fact that there are few options for rehab and emotional peer support, Neil created three North Wales Prostate Cancer Support Groups across the region.

“It shouldn’t matter where in Wales you live, you should have access to the best treatment options and the right support – emotional and physical.”

For more information and insight into our call for a 10-year National Cancer Strategy in Wales, please read our Manifesto that we'll link in the comments.

Wrth i 60 o bobl yng Nghymru gael diagnosis o ganser bob dydd – nid yw canser yn aros ac ni ddylai Cymru aros chwaith. Ac eto, Cymru yw’r unig genedl yn y DU heb gynllun ganser hirdymor.

Mae hyn er gwaetha’r ffaith rydym yn gwybod bod gwledydd sydd â chynllun yn gwella canlyniadau a gofal a dyna pam rydym yn galw am strategaeth canser genedlaethol 10 mlynedd yng Nghymru.

Cynhelir etholiadau’r Senedd ar 7fed Mai 2026 ac, fel rhan o’r cyfnod sy’n arwain atynt, cadeiriwyd hustyngau gwleidyddol mewn partneriaeth â Grŵp Cymorth Canser y Prostad Gogledd Cymru a’r ganolfan Maggie’s newydd yn Sir Clwyd, lle y cynhaliwyd y digwyddiad.

Yn bresennol, roedd Aelodau o’r Senedd a chynrychiolaeth gan lawer o bleidiau gwleidyddol Cymru, aelodau o grŵp cymorth wrolegol Maggie’s, gweithwyr proffesiynol Macmillan a llawer o bobl eraill sy’n byw gyda chanser neu y mae canser wedi effeithio arnynt.

Yn gweithredu fel cadeirydd ar ein rhan yw Rheolwr Materion Allanol, Rhian Stangroom Teel, dywedodd: “Mae’r hustyngau hyn wedi bod yn gyfle i greu gofod diogel a chynhwysol lle y gall pobl y mae canser wedi effeithio arnynt a’u teuluoedd glywed yn uniongyrchol gan ymgeiswyr y Senedd ynghylch eu blaenoriaethau, gofyn cwestiynau a theimlo bod eu profiad bywyd wedi cael ei glywed.”

Yn bresennol roedd Neil, a gafodd brawf gwaed yn y gweithle gan Heddlu Gogledd Cymru yn 51 oed a ddangosodd lefelau uchel o PSA. Aeth Neil at ei Feddyg Teulu ond bu’n rhaid iddo fynnu ei fod yn cael ei atgyfeirio.

“Gwnaeth yr atgyfeiriad hwnnw achub fy mywyd,” dywedodd.

Cafodd ddiagnosis o ganser y prostad wrth gael prostadectomi radical yn Sir Clwyd, ond erbyn hyn y mae angen i lawer o ddynion deithio i Loegr am nad oes gan ei fwrdd iechyd lleol y cyfarpar roboteg angenrheidiol.

O ganlyniad i hyn, ynghyd â’r ffaith nid oes llawer o opsiynau ar gyfer adsefydlu a chymorth emosiynol gan gymheiriaid, sefydlodd Neil dri Grŵp Cymorth Canser y Prostad Gogledd Cymru ar draws y rhanbarth.

“Ni ddylai fod ots o ran ble yng Nghymru rydych chi’n byw, dylech chi gael mynediad at yr opsiynau triniaeth gorau a’r cymorth cywir – emosiynol a chorfforol.”

I gael mwy o wybodaeth a chipolwg ar ein galwad am Strategaeth Canser Genedlaethol 10 mlynedd yng Nghymru, darllenwch ein Maniffesto.
