❗️A fire at the end of The Moor on Friday evening at around 22:00. A hedge was set alight, causing some damage to a nearby property. Thanks to the fast response of the fire brigade, further damage to the property was avoided.

A group of children were seen in the area shortly beforehand, laughing and running around. This doesn’t mean they were involved, but it would be really helpful if parents and carers could remind their children about the dangers of fire‑setting, especially in the current heat. Even a small fire can spread quickly and put homes, wildlife, and people at risk.

If you did see anything suspicious, please report it to 101 or via the online reporting service.

Report online any crime you've been a victim of or witnessed: from assault, theft or criminal damage to harassment, online abuse or blackmail.

From last night: children seen on the railway line at Meldreth station.

If you’re a parent or carer, please have a conversation with your children about staying away from the railway. Remind them that it’s not a playground, shortcut, or hangout spot. The consequences are devastating not only for them, but also for train drivers, emergency services, and the community.

This is also part of a wider pattern of anti‑social behaviour that’s been reported around Meldreth station recently.

If you see anything, please report to the police immediately.
