The CUBE on Symingtons

The CUBE on Symingtons The CUBE on Symingtons is a place for young people 11-18 years in Market Harborough and the surrounding villages. The CUBE on Symingtons was opened in 2014.

We provide youthwork, schools work and youth counselling. The charity was originally set up in 2005 by local Christians in Harborough and operated out of the Settling Rooms to give young people a place to get together with their friends to eat food and have fun. We now have a fantastic purpose built facility on Symingtons Rec where we run youth groups and projects, engage with schools and churches

and operate a youth counselling service accessible to local young people. For further information please message us.

We are getting settled in the new term... how is everyone doing?

Routines are settling in, and the reality of homework, early mornings and busy weeks might be kicking in.

For some young people, things may be going brilliantly. For others, it might be taking a little longer to adjust.

And that's okay.

This is just a little check-in for our young people and their families: How are you really doing?

There’s no pressure to have everything figured out a few weeks in. Sometimes it helps to pause, have a conversation and see what support might be needed.

πŸ’¬ Maybe ask:
What's been the best part of the new term so far?
What's been difficult?
Is there anything we can do to help?

Sometimes, simply knowing someone is checking in can make all the difference.

πŸ’› International Day of Charity πŸ’›

Today, we're celebrating the charities and community organisations making a difference every day.

At The Cube, we're proud to play our part in supporting young people in Market Harborough β€” but we know we're just one of many organisations working to make our community a better place.

We'd also like to give a shout-out to some of the fantastic local charities doing incredible work in our area:

πŸ’› Market Harborough & The Bowdens Charity: Located on Fairfield Road, it provides community grants, educational support, and "Relief in Need" aid (such as household appliances or furniture) for local hardship.
πŸ’›The Symington Charity: Formerly known as the Howard Watson Symington Memorial Charity, it assists local individuals and groups suffering from distress, ill-health, or financial hardship
πŸ’› HCYC: Our close friends who run the Young Cares group, in our building and the chill out bus in the surrounding areas.

There are so many brilliant people, charities and community groups giving their time, skills and energy to support others.

Tag a local charity or organisation you think deserves a shout-out below! πŸ‘‡

Swipe through to hear what our team hopes are for young people this academic year.

Because sometimes the things that matter most can't be measured in a school report.

Whatever this new school year brings, we hope every young person knows that they are valued, capable and never have to face things alone.

Here's to a year of learning, growing and thriving. 🌱

Did you know that we have a Bleed Control Kit in the Defib on our building? It was generously donated by The Daniel Baird Foundation earlier this year, and we're incredibly grateful for their support! This kit is a vital resource in case of emergencies, providing essential supplies to help control bleeding and save lives. We're proud to have it readily available in our building, thanks to the foundation's kindness and commitment to our community!

πŸŽ’βœ¨ A new school year...
For some young people, the first day back brings excitement, catching up with friends and a fresh start.
For others, it might bring nerves, worries, new routines, new schools, new classes or the pressure of wondering what the year will bring.
Whatever the new school year feels like for you, you don't have to have it all figured out on day one.
Take it one day at a time. πŸ’›
And remember β€” asking for help, talking things through and taking a little time for yourself are all okay.
Here's to a new year of learning, growing, making memories and finding your way. 🌱

GCSE results day

You might be feeling excited, relieved, proud, disappointed, nervous β€” or maybe a mixture of everything.

Whatever your results look like today, take a moment to recognise what you’ve achieved. GCSEs can be challenging, and your grades are only one part of your story.

Your results may help shape your next steps, but they do not define your worth, your potential or your future

There are always different routes forward, different opportunities and people who can help you work out what comes next.

So whether today has gone exactly as you hoped or not quite as planned, be kind to yourself.

Take a breath. Celebrate what you can. Ask for support if you need it.

This is one moment in your journey β€” not the whole story. πŸ’›

β˜€οΈ What a summer! πŸ’›

And just like that, the summer holidays are coming to an end!

From crafts and cooking to water games, challenges, games, laughter and plenty of fun, we've loved spending the summer with our young people at The Cube.

We've made memories, tried new things, got a little bit messy, and most importantly, created spaces where young people could come together, be themselves and have fun.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, helped out, volunteered, donated or supported our summer programme.

Now it's time to get ready for a new school year... πŸŽ’

Our summer water games were full of laughter, teamwork, competition... and a fair bit of water! πŸ˜‚

From taking on the challenges, to a water-fight our young people threw themselves into the fun and made the most of the sunshine.

We love creating opportunities for young people to try something different, spend time together and make memories along the way. πŸ’›

A huge well done to everyone who joined in β€” and to anyone who managed to stay dry... we're not sure how you did it! πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚
