21 Together 21 Together is a charity working with people with Down's syndrome and those that support them. At every step our families need support.

We believe that everyone has the right to live their lives to the fullest of their potential. We will work together to raise expectations within the Down’s syndrome community and to empower those around us to promote inclusion and achieve aspirations. With raised expectations and empowered voices, anything is possible. Our Aims

What We Do

Training
We are going to provide a range of training aimed at both parents and professionals. The training will cover many areas including but not restricted to SEN law, education, therapies, social/behaviour approaches, independent living and transition to adulthood. Education and Awareness
We are working with Canterbury Christchurch University to run education sessions with undergraduate midwives. We are now moving on to participate with a collaborative module between all health and social care students. We will be presenting about our experiences of person-centred working and team work. We hope to build on this and help provide awareness training in many settings from acute hospitals to voluntary organisations like scouting. Information
Our goal is to provide pertinent information on our website and link to other useful sources. This is a work in progress and we will look to build upon this as we go. We hope to provide local advice so that each family can use the experience of the community to find the best resources and build a database of useful local information. Support
This is potentially the most important aim of our charity. We aim to provide support to the families and carers so they can continue to support the person with Down’s syndrome to live life to the fullest of their potential.

This October, for Down’s Syndrome Awareness Month, our wonderful ambassador Sam Barnard shares his advice for our community on following their dreams.

✨ What a night. What a community. Over £50,616 raised! ✨

Our Greatest Showman-themed Gala was a truly spectacular way to celebrate 10 years of 21 Together. From fire performers and stilt walkers to wonderful food and everyone looking incredible in black tie, there was so much to celebrate. 💙

But the generosity in the room exceeded everything we’d hoped for. We’re still taken aback by the support — £50,616 to help children and young people with Down’s syndrome and their families across Kent access support, build confidence and thrive.

An enormous thank you to Sinead Ainsworth and Ainsworth Civils & Engineering Limited, our primary sponsors, for making it all possible. We were also delighted to celebrate Sinead’s son Fergus’s 10th birthday alongside our own anniversary. Happy birthday, Fergus! 🎂

🥂 The very first owner of the original Sophia 21 is Sarah Wildgoose Sarah Wildgoose one of my loveliest clients, who already has a collection of my bags. I couldn’t be happier that the original Sophia 21 has gone to her.

✨ Sarah is also one of the original founders of 21 Together, starting the charity 10 years ago and contributing so much to the Down syndrome community over the years.
