Being smart about your v**e starts with knowing the facts – and understanding how to keep yourself and others safe.

You should:
✅Unplug your v**e once it’s fully charged
♻️ Recycle it safely at a designated recycle point near you:
a supermarket, v**e shop or your local household waste recycling centre
🚫Keep it away from extreme heat or freezing cold temperatures

If you don’t, you could cause your v**e to overheat, leak, or even start a fire. When v**es and pods are binned, their hidden lithium batteries can be crushed in bin lorries and recycling centres, sparking dangerous fires and wasting valuable materials 😬🔥

Fly tipping isn’t just illegal - it damages Kent’s countryside, harms wildlife and turns public spaces into eyesores.

Clearing dumped waste costs taxpayers millions each year - money that could be spent on important local services. Most residents care deeply about where they live and want to keep their local area clean and safe 💚

When paying someone to dispose of your waste, always check that they have a Waste Carriers Licence via the Environment Agency website, ask for a Waste Transfer Note (so you know where it’s going) and jot down their vehicle registration.

By choosing legal disposal routes and doing the right checks, you’re helping to protect your community and the places we all value 🤝

Disposing of waste legally doesn’t have to be expensive.

There are plenty of free or low cost alternatives to using unlicensed collectors, including:

♻️ Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs)
♻️ Charity reuse and collection services
♻️ Local council bulky waste collections
♻️ Online marketplaces to give items a second home

Avoid paying twice: once to a rogue collector, and again through fines or clean up costs 😳

Use trusted, legal disposal options to keep control of your waste.

🚨 Your waste is your responsibility, even after it leaves your home! 🚨

By law, householders have a duty of care to make sure their waste is disposed of properly. If it’s fly tipped and traced back to you, you could face a fine of up to £600 - even if someone else dumped it.

The good news? It’s easy to protect yourself 😅

Always check that anyone taking your waste away has a Waste Carriers Licence via the Environment Agency website, ask for a Waste Transfer Note (so you know where it’s going) and jot down their vehicle registration.

A quick check can save you stress, money and unwanted contact with enforcement officers.

⚠️ SCAM WARNING IN KENT ⚠️

Cheap “man with a van” waste deals online often end in fly tipping. If the price looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Rogue waste collectors don’t just dump rubbish, they leave you with the risk. Some residents end up paying twice: once to the rogue trader, and again through fines or clean up costs.

Follow these simple steps to avoid getting scammed:
✅Check they have a Waste Carriers Licence via the Environment Agency website
✅ Ask for a Waste Transfer Note (so you know where it’s going)
✅ Make a note of their vehicle registration

Protect yourself, your money and your community by using licensed waste carriers only 🤝
