New Year’s Day isn’t about rushing forward.
It’s about pausing.

It’s the space between what has been
and what might still be possible.

At Rewrite Your Story, we believe the future doesn’t arrive fully formed — it’s shaped gently, choice by choice, moment by moment.

You don’t need a perfect plan.
You don’t need to feel confident or certain.
You don’t even need to know where you’re heading yet.

Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is simply say:
“I’m still here. And I’m open to something different.”

“Scroll Less. Feel More. A Gentle Reminder for Your Mental Health.”

Is it just us, or does scrolling about mental health sometimes feel like the emotionally healthiest thing we do all day… right before we start doom-scrolling again? 😅

Here’s the truth: social media can be amazing — we laugh, we connect, and yes, sometimes we learn pretty decent coping tips. But too much scrolling also means comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel… and that’s a recipe for anxiety and FOMO the size of your notifications badge. 

So here’s a radical idea:
📵 Put the phone down once in a while
🤝 Look someone in the eyes (yes, human eye contact!)
😴 And maybe don’t read every mental health meme like it’s your autobiography 😄

Real self-care isn’t just a hashtag — it’s a pause, a breath, a chat with someone who actually listens. And if your mind feels more tangled than your earbuds after a jog… well, that’s where we come in.

As we head into the new year, we’re exploring the idea of offering affordable, low-cost counselling in Maidstone through Rewrite Your Story, our local mental health charity.

With the cost-of-living pressures, long NHS waiting lists, and so many people quietly struggling, we’re hearing more and more that support just isn’t accessible when it’s needed most.

Our aim would be to offer:
✨ Ethical, compassionate counselling
✨ Self-select fees (pay what you can afford)
✨ Support for anxiety, stress, loss, and emotional wellbeing
✨ A service rooted in the local community, not profit

Before we move ahead, we’d really value your voice.

At Rewrite Your Story, we work every day with children, teenagers, and families facing trauma, anxiety, self-harm, and mental health challenges.

Our team provides free and low-cost therapy, school-based programmes, and peer support groups that change lives — but demand is rising faster than we can meet it.
