We joined BBC Radio Kent yesterday along with Helen Whately MP to discuss the petition Helen has just delivered to the Prime Minister, calling on him to stop the sprawl and save Kent’s countryside.

Chairman of Lenham Parish Council, Cllr John Britt said:
“Of course I agree with Stuart - but let’s say he now agrees with me. These are the arguments that we, the people who oppose Heathlands, have been making since day one. I am glad he has seen sense.”

A council leader has called for a government-led pause on large-scale house-building over concerns developments may not have water supplies.

This week it’s Charing pumping station’s turn to fail. Another prime example of how inadequate and fragile the water supply is in this part of Kent.

STOP THE SPRAWL AND SAVE KENT'S COUNTRYSIDE

Enough is enough. Faversham & Mid Kent can’t cope with the extra 20,000 houses planned to be built over our green fields and farmland over the next few years.

We need to stand together to make clear to the Government that we cannot continue with this scale and pace of development.
