Milford Pre School Plus We are an Outstanding Pre School, Accredited Forest School, After School and Holiday club, with a huge allotment. This includes a free flow garden area.

We run from a large play space, especially designed for the needs of all our children. The garden gate also leads out to our huge allotment, playground where we ride balance bikes, field with climbing and balancing equipment and our amazing Forest School area that we share with the school. We have good links with the school enabling a smooth transition. We hold events such as gardening, Forest School, Mothers Day and pancake sessions. We are successful winners at the Lymington carnival and take part in Milford Christmas trees on the green. We also fundraise for new equipment through Easter Egg Hunts and our Christmas Fair. Plenty for your child and your family to become totally involved in our wonderful Pre School, After School and Holiday clubs οΏ½

Week two of Pumpkin fun! The children have been enjoying activities at Forest School, creating a beautiful smelling pumpkin clay candle, mark making on a wooden one, sharing pumpkin melt hot chocolate and waffles with fruit.
They have enjoyed a pumpkin sensory tray, using a range of objects to pour and scoop, pumpkin volcanoes and pumpkin pie smelling play dough!
We have also made some warming butternut squash soup and pumpkin shaped biscuits! πŸŽƒ πŸŽƒπŸ„β€πŸŸ«πŸ”₯😍

The children have had a wonderful week celebrating all things pumpkin!
They were firstly keen to open one up so they could see what was happening inside our pumpkins! They carefully picked out lots of seeds that we baked in the oven and cut them up. We then cooked the flesh in a vegetable stock and enjoyed pumpkin soup with home made bread and today we also made pumpkin biscuits!
Lots of sensory play, pouring and scooping a range of objects to develop physical strength and language-especially when we used a variety of ingredients to create pumpkin volcanoes! Very exciting and so much fun playing with the β€œlava” and the gloop!
We also made pumpkin pizza at Forest School, along with pumpkin hot chocolate!
In the garden, we scrubbed the munchkin pumpkins clean and rolled some down a chute to estimate the number they landed on down the pumpkin roll game!
And we will be enjoying more exciting and engaging pumpkin activities next week! πŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸ˜

We have been enjoying some harvest festival activities this week. We created a builders tray full of farm animals and produce, to encourage the children’s fine motor skills, speech and language and understanding.
We have also created some scarecrows and foods using play dough and loose parts. The children have been printing using vegetables from a local allotment and finding a few small potatoes left over in our allotment too. πŸ₯”πŸšœπŸŒ½πŸ˜

We have been busy developing our amazing knife skills at Forest School, preparing our vegetables to cook our vegetable and noodle soup over our own fire!
Such a wonderful opportunity for the children to handle tools and talk about the vegetables they are using. The children helped add the stock and some noodles, as well as giving it a little stir over a low flame.
And how fantastic to see most of the children devouring their soup with such enjoyment! They are more inclined to try foods that they have helped prepare and watch cook.

Our fabulous pear tree in our allotment has given us a bounty of delicious pears this year! The children have found some riper ones for eating and some needing a little cooking so we could prepare them ready for everyone to share a delicious pear tart for snack time!

This week, the children have been enjoying activities based around lovely hedgehogs!
Hedgehogs are great for developing their interest in nature and our environment.
They are fascinated by how hedgehogs roll into a tight, spiky ball when they feel scared and learning that hedgehogs wake up at night while we are sleeping, as well as learning how hedgehogs hibernate during winter. We have shared some fun activities at Forest School and in the pre school too, continuing to work on our fine motor skills as well as maths and literacy.πŸ¦”πŸ¦”πŸ¦”πŸ˜

Thank you everyone who came along to our family Forest School session this afternoon. We had glorious weather and it definitely looked like the children had a great time! Lovely to chat to the adults too.
