What an incredible show! 🎤

Our Youth Team hosted an unforgettable Youth Talent Show, and we are still blown away by the talent in the room. From powerhouse vocalists to brilliant musicians, our young people truly took the stage by storm and left everyone speechless.

A massive THANK YOU to the London Marriott Hotel Regents Park for hosting us and giving our youth a platform to shine. Your hospitality gave these rising stars the space to build their confidence, step into the spotlight, and show the world what they’re capable of. 🌟 🙌

Look at what our incredible Winch kids have been up to!

Instead of throwing out our old wooden stools, the children rolled up their sleeves and gave them an amazing second life. They spent time hand-painting each stool with their own incredible, unique designs—turning plain old seating into vibrant mini works of art.

A massive thank you to our brilliant kids for making the Winch a little brighter, one stool at a time!

We are beyond excited to shine our Employee Spotlight on a true Winch legend: Kim, our Head of Play!

Kim’s journey with us started when she was 18, after being invited to our Women’s Football sessions. Back then, it was all about the "enormous pitch," weekend tournaments across the country, and a passion for the game. For Kim, The Winch was the catalyst that gave young women the chance to be professionally coached and thrive.

The Full Circle Moment: The same person who introduced Kim to those football sessions eventually told her about a job leading our Play program. Fast forward to this July, and Kim will be celebrating an incredible 25 years with us!

Why she loves it:
"I have the best job in the world! Every day I am privileged to witness beautiful magic moments children learning something for the first time, sharing stories from their amazing imaginations, and seeing friendships blossom. I feel honoured to be a part of their journey."

Kim, thank you for a quarter-century of dedication, magic, and play. We wouldn't be the same without you!

☀️ Another heatwave is hitting us which means our work is more important than ever! 🌡️

As temperatures rise, so does the need for real, grassroots climate action. That’s why we’re so proud to share the results of our landmark Citizens’ Assembly! 🌿

Led by the Winch’s Good Neighbourhood Project, 25 Swiss Cottage and South Hampstead residents came together to create a practical, powerful blueprint for community resilience.

Here is how local residents are taking charge of our climate future:

🏛️ Pushing Decision-Makers (Camden Council & TfL) for:

Solar panels on estate rooftops to cut energy bills

Easing restrictions on green retrofitting (solar, double glazing, insulation)

Reimagining the Swiss Cottage Gyratory for safer walking, cycling, and heat/flood mitigation

Planting shade-providing trees along Finchley Road to cool down our streets

🌱 Taking Immediate Action On The Ground:

Establishing permanent & mobile community gardens

Rescuing surplus food for local families in need

Launching active travel "walking & cycling buses" for school kids

Hosting monthly community litter-picks

Change starts right here in our neighbourhood. 💪

This role is all about building authentic, trusted relationships with young people. As part of our Inspiring Inclusion programme, you’ll provide 1-to-1, trauma-informed mentoring for Black and racially minoritised young people, while helping us reshape local education systems alongside families, schools, and partners.

The Winch is seeking a friendly, organised and proactive Office & Services Coordinator to help keep our busy community organisation running smoothly. This is a varied and hands-on role, acting as the first point of contact for visitors while coordinating room hire bookings, supporting building operations, and providing essential administrative support across the Winch and Belsize Community Library. You’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming, safe and well-managed environment for children, young people, staff, tenants and the wider community.
