At a Full Council Meeting of Haringey, the Council selected their *first ever Mayor's Cadets* from Sea Cadets Haringey and 16F Sqn ATC.

Cadet Sergeant Smith is an exemplary cadet, particularly in his approach to his leadership development and cadet academic achievement. He has consistently set himself a high standard to achieve right across The Cadet Offer. He showcases a very positive case study of the very best of the opportunities that cadet service gives.

Sgt Smith now can accompany the Mayor of Haringey on appropriate official engagements.

Our cadet NCO team do an astonishing job all year round - from planning and delivering lessons to helping their fellow cadets grow and develop.

Our NCO team were invited the inaugural 16F NCO Dinner held at the RAF Club in London last Friday for an evening to explore the last year and look at how the Sqn can best support this amazing team.

A big night last night for badges! 10 cadets awarded the Blue Space Badge, and 9 of our newest have completed their St John's Ambulance Essential First Aid Badge! Not even issued uniform yet and already learning new skills.

Particular congratulations to Cdt Nieto-Cygan, who has recently achieved Bronze Duke of Edinburghs Award and Blue Road Marching oh top of the Blue Space Badge; and Cpl Nutt, which achieved a Bronze marksman badge.

16F Squadron paraded at the Hornsey War Memorial to mark Remembrance Sunday. Inscribed on the walls are the names of 1371 local people killed in action during the First World War.

A great weekend supporting the Windsor Half Marathon along with cadets from all over Middlesex Wing Air Cadets! Thank you to Cpl Celik, Cpl Nutt, Cdt Richmond, and Cdt Nieto-Cygan - especially to Cpl Nutt and Cdt Nieto-Cygan, who gave up their whole weekend and got to the squadron at times no one should see twice in a day to support this event. Well done!

It has been an incredible Summer ☀️ for our cadets! Sgt Smith went on the National Air and Space Camp ✈️; an incredible opportunity for Air Cadets interested in STEM and Aerospace careers ⚙️. He was joined on the Industry Day by Cdt Tomlinson, and both got to explore the aircraft and see an airshow put on specially for the camp. Thanks to 2 Flying Training School for organising this amazing opportunity, and to 3 Mobile Catering Squadron 🍕for keeping the cadets fed and happy ("only one sausage per cadet!")

We also have had Cpl Nutt taking advantage of Annual Camp at RAF Cranwell 🫡, where he got in the air with 644 Volunteer Gliding Squadron out of RAF Syerston. He also met the Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Al Lewis (Formerly Rgnl Comdt London & South East Region Air Cadets, so obviously the best option in the Corps!)

Today, 5 of our cadets passed their Drill Assessment and became First Class Cadets! Congratulations to Cdts Richmond, Upegui, Feldman, Petrowski, and Bakhshi for their hard work.

Finally, Sgt Anderson went to Jersey Camp on the Isle of Wight (it confused us too) and Cdt Richards went to the National Adventure Training Centre in Windermere! 🥾

Well done to all our cadets, who are absolutely smashing it.
