Job Advert โ Nursery Practitioner
Park School Day Nursery is a family run business which was established in 1966 and currently employs fifteen members of staff. We are a day nursery and Pre-school who take children from 6 weeks to 4 years old, providing excellent care and education. We strive to have exceptional relationships with our parents and carers, working closely with them to help our children grow.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and attentive individual. The ideal candidate will have early years experience and knowledge of the Key Worker system. A knowledge of Tapestry, an on-line Learning Journal, is useful, but not essential, as full training will be given. This position is permanent and hours will be between 8am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, full time.
Essential:
โข A qualified nursery practitioner at level 3 or above holding a NNEB, BTEC, NVQ3, EYE, or an equivalent childcare/teaching qualification;
โข A desire to support childrenโs development, no matter how small the progress is;
โข Good, effective communication with colleagues and parents/carers;
โข A working knowledge of early years and child development.
Main duties:
โข To ensure the provision is of high quality to meet the needs of the individual children;
โข To observe, assess and review the progress of key children;
โข To work closely with parents and carers and form a good relationship;
โข To ensure that childrenโs needs are met, regardless of culture, race, religion or stage of development;
โข To meet each childโs care needs, including nappy changes, sleep routines and eating habits;
โข To communicate effectively with colleagues and work well as part of a team;
โข To carry out First Aid and record all accidents and incidents;
โข To be aware of the nurseryโs safeguarding policy and take necessary action if and when required;
โข To support children with additional needs where necessary and liaise with other professionals and SENCo.
