🌿 Community Impact at Greetwell Hollow 🌿

What an amazing morning we had at our community litter pick this weekend! 💚

Young people, leaders, parents, local residents, and local councillors all came together at Greetwell Hollow Nature Reserve to help make a positive difference to our local environment.

Working as a team, we collected a huge amount of litter from around the reserve, helping to keep the area clean and safe for both wildlife and the community to enjoy. 🗑️🌎

A huge well done to all of our young people for their hard work, teamwork, and community spirit throughout the event, you did an incredible job and represented the group brilliantly.

Thank you as well to everyone who joined us and supported the event. It was fantastic to see the community coming together for such a positive cause. 🙌

⚜️ A Royal Achievement for One of Our Own ⚜️

We are absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news today! Our former Cub Leader, Jasper, has been at Windsor Castle for the prestigious Windsor Day of Celebration and Achievement to receive his King’s Scout Award, the highest honour a Scout can achieve. 👑

Jasper was a dedicated part of our team for three years, and we were touched to hear him say: "I completed much of the award during my 3 years with you."

We are incredibly proud to have played a part in his journey. Huge congratulations, Jasper, on this well-deserved and momentous milestone!

⚜️ St George’s Day Parade ⚜️

We were proud to take part in the Lincoln Scouts St George’s Day Parade, with our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Leaders and parent volunteers all joining the group on parade.

The parade made its way from The Lawn, through the Castle and on to the Cathedral, where everyone took part in a special service to renew their Promise. This long-standing tradition brings together all sections alongside adult volunteers, celebrating the patron saint of Scouting and continuing a parade that has taken place since 1914.

A big thank you to all our members and families for taking part, as well as the volunteers who gave their time to help steward the event and ensure everything ran smoothly. We would also like to give a special mention to our group members who took part in the Lincoln District Scout Band, your contribution was greatly appreciated.

Well done everyone!

🏛️ Museum Adventure! 🏛️

Our Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Museum of Lincolnshire Life! Working in teams, they followed clues, explored the exhibits, and discovered more about the history of the county.

There was plenty of teamwork, learning, and of course lots of fun along the way!

Well done to everyone for getting involved and making it such a great experience.

🍫 Chocolate Bingo Success! 🍫

We had a fantastic time at our recent Easter Chocolate Bingo event, with a brilliant turnout of parents, young people, and supporters from our community. There was plenty of fun, laughter, and of course… lots of chocolate prizes won throughout the evening!

Thanks to everyone who came along, we were able to raise valuable funds to support our group and future activities.

A big thank you to all our members and families for your continued support, and a special shoutout to our committee for organising and running such a great event.

We’re already looking forward to the next one!

🚮 Let’s get picking! A huge thank you to our local Councillors! 🚮

We had some very special guests at the 14th Lincoln (St Giles) Scout Group last night. A massive thank you to Cllr Martin Christopher (Abbey Ward), Cllr Aiden Wells (Glebe Ward), and Cllr James Brown (Glebe Ward) for visiting our group and presenting us with an incredible donation of equipment.

Thanks to their support, we are now the proud owners of 10 full litter-picking sets, including:
✅ Litter Pickers & Hoops
✅ High-Vis Vests
✅ Gloves & Rubbish Bags
✅ First Aid Kits

This equipment means our Scouts can now get out safely into the St Giles community to help keep our streets and green spaces clean. Our young people are eager to start earning their community impact badges and making a difference!

Keep an eye out for our Scouts in their new high-vis vests coming to a street near you soon!
